Looks oddly beaten down. Won contract recently. May be basing but short covering will boost like aal sometime. Amateur opinion here but 300 may be bottom. Don't believe $20 oil will visit us. Bounce off 26 more likely for double bottom if it goes there.

the chartists are calling downside prevails 261 then 201

but I guess if oil rallies then this will follow

its best left as percentages, as £500 can mean as much to one person as £50k does to another.

for me I have auctioned some assets, to buy some of these oil related stocks,
been trading for yonks with a 50k float, but now just wan`t to spend less time
looking at the monitor.

so far have Shell £14.00 BP £3.25 GENL £1.20 TLW £1.30

HSBC as back up £4.20 and of course 3OIL

trying to buy this, but that 10% drop yesterday was vicious, done some more research and decided to hold off. was happy to get the chance of selling this morning.

Well done on the profit, my loss is £25,000 ATMI.

These huge gains/profit as a percentage are meaningless unless you give an amount invested, or are you reading a story book.

Just when you think it cant go any lower!
If they can hold the reduced divi then it is yielding 6.5% which is pretty chunky.
Having said that, 2016 is not going to be good for this type of business.

Finess, I very much doubt that. I would have been myself having initially bought recently at what I had thought a fairly safe-ish £4. However, I have since been trading the recent lunatic volatility quite rewardingly. In view of the berserk lurches (up 10%, down 7%, up 8%, almost daily) I assume some sort of bottom is being gauged amongst the capitulation of some long term holders. In any event, I'm looking at perhaps 5% or 6% divis if I wish to hold longer term from these levels.

BTW Oil prices surging after US close tonight - as inventories far less than expected - so might be another big up day tomorrow (Thurs).

ali47fish - "manager at citadel adding- is that a good sign?"

Hard to say, there's so many reasons for people like that to add, I would like to see more contract announcements like the recent one with the USAF.

Their Foster Whheler arm has considerable experience in 'non oil' related work but there's been little in the way of announcements. It does take time of course but it's fairly obvious there will be little petrochemical work for two years or more so they have to concentrate on other industries.
