Part of their business model.trident5
Yes it is and is a good illustration of their attractive consumer business model. It effectively constitutes payment upfront without having to finance and collect receivables and no bad debt risk either.masurenguy

Nice write up by Hastings in the Cambridge News today. Although the current year PER is circa 17 the actual EV is only a fraction over 9, after you strip out the cash, and the yield is 6%. Consequently I took advantage of the price dip this afternoon and topped up @3.92, although it is showing as a Sell.masurenguy

Happy Days .I wasn't expecting quite so much so quickly but I'm not complaining and I won't be in a hurry to take profits. This is a stock that has fallen from grace and been punished . The market often goes from one extreme to another. They have been in business a long time , they operate in a competitive market, aren't they all ? but they have a decent footprint and can be confident if they get their eyes back on the ball. No reason why this can't fly back up to it's original altitude and go even higher.(Apologies)I plan to sit back and enjoy the ride. The dividend gives the whole thing a lot of backbone as well.robsy2
Forecast div for current FY is 24.27p which still implies a 5.5% yield at the current 444.5p offer pricespeedsgh
Another 5.5% rise today on a very modest volume. The shareprice has increased by 20% over the past 4 weeks with a 15.4p dividend due on Monday as further icing on the cake. Another 10% to go in order to achieve the Liberium 480p price target.masurenguy
this has always been a share that runs up and down sharply on little volume. nice when it's going up and you're long! Not so much fun when it's tankingmalcontent
+5% on the day. What's this about? Or is it all just random walks?pvb
Moving up on a miniscule volume !masurenguy
Yes, all seems encouraging. Happy to hold with a 6% yield thrown in and recovering markets. Good value in my opinion. Momentum building as well which may encourage more interest.topvest

Good point in relation to yesterdays further upgrade to 480p by Liberum.masurenguy
Mas - Note that Liberum upgraded their TP yesterday to 480p on the back of the Cabot Aviation acquisition (see #515 above). Also worth bearing in mind that Liberum are house broker so will naturally err on the optimitic side!speedsgh
Todays drop due to the shares going XD. Air Partner plc declares 15.4p dividend Shareholders of record on Thursday, May 14th will be given a dividend of 15.4p per share on Monday, June 15th. This represents a yield of 4%. The ex-dividend date of this dividend is Thursday, May 14th. On the ratings front, analysts at Liberum Capital reiterated a “buy” rating and set a 400p price target on shares of Air Partner plc in a research note on Friday, March 13th. http://sleekmoney.com/air-partner-plc-declares-gbx-15-40-dividend-aip/248146/ Some positive press coverage of yesterdays acquisition. Air Partner spreads its wings in private jets In Europe’s rapidly consolidating executive jet market, Air Partner, the quoted aviation broker, has acquired a specialist in leasing out homeless or distressed aircraft. Cabot Aviation works with airlines directly, or with banks and insolvency practitioners, to find homes for aircraft that are no longer affordable for their owners. It is working to lease the unwanted Embraer aircraft that are weighing heavily on FlyBe, on the Airbus aircraft made redundant by the receivership of Cyprus Airways, and on a fleet of ageing Chinese Boeing 747 freighters. Air Partner is hoping that Cabot can repeat the trick in the executive jet market. “The deal brings us new opportunities to go for,” Mark Briffa, Air Partner’s chief executive, said of a deal that is costing his company £1.2m. Todays rise seems to be on the back of quite a few small Buys, which is indicative of the relative illiquidity of this stock at the retail level. My entry level investment @364p last week now looks to have been quite well-timed. Positive view of the small acquisition was probably the catalyst today.masurenguy
Markets reacting favourably to Liberum's 480p raised price target today - HTTP://t.co/2dxhrHDcOi Also news of small acquisition - HTTP://www.investegate.co.uk/air-partner-plc--aip-/rns/air-partner-acquires-cabot-aviation-services/201505130700159818M/speedsgh
Annual Report looks pretty good. Some interesting stories included on their propositions. One thing is missing. The Royal Warrant has gone - have they lost it as it's not mentioned on their web-site either?topvest
Today, Thursday 30 April according to Sharescope, instead of the usual volume of below 50k AIP shares traded there were 1.41m traded. The small rise in the SP suggests some sort of roll-over trade, but does anyone with ears to the ground have more information? Of course it may be a mistake.dozey1
