25/9/2015 08:32 | There is no single 10 million transaction yesterday. Purchase was made in chunks. I guess that was done to prevent sudden spike in shares. Still long way to go to 0.9 and I don't think 10 million @ 0.4 averaged anything down. | rwauu

24/9/2015 10:08 | sleveen...all businesses need to fund growth during a period of start-up. Branson built his empire from one record shop, expanding on the back of the revenues from the first and then successive stores. It is whether they can be cash flow positive at the top line before cost of expansion is taken in to the accounts. If each new vehicle acquisition shows a projected cash flow +ve forecast, then it is a matter of scaling up the operations. I would assume that each new truck does not need one additional secretary, accountant, sales manager etc etc so there will be economies of scale derived from growing the part that earns the money (in Afri's case this is both the physical trucks and the marketing division creating the sales I presume). I am wondering if AfriAg are actually physically buying products from suppliers and then finding their own customers, and therefore making money on not only the transportation but also on the buying and selling of commodities...or is this too big a risk for the time being? | lazarus2010
24/9/2015 09:59 | Laz Fair point on leasing. But funding growth still requires cash, as they are "approaching critical mass". My interpretation of which is that AFRI are not yet cash generative enough for internal funding. AFRI could be a long term winner. | sleveen
24/9/2015 09:50 | not in Afri, but have been watching. Just a point on trucks, most manufacturers have lease contracts for trucks, just the same as for cars. I would doubt that any company goes out and pays cash for a new vehicle as the tax allowances for capital expenditure (usually only depreciation is allowed) are not as good as for the cost of a lease, which is fully tax deductable (I think?). As Afri is listed on Aim, is their tax jurisdiction UK or somewhere else? | lazarus2010
24/9/2015 08:53 | Maybe placing but the journey has just started... | letmepass
24/9/2015 08:29 | All those new trucks don't grow on trees . They have to pat CASH for them. Placing coming probably. | sleveen
24/9/2015 08:16 | Er, where does it say financing (or equity financing anyway) is needed? If they have a profitable business and contracts in place, and have a good reputation and contacts (which DL does in Africa) then most or all of any financing should be achievable through debt? | cyberbub
24/9/2015 08:08 | A few spoked by the need for financing in the short-term I'd imagine... Let them go - Doesn't concern me... This is growing into a solid business if you have the patience to wait. | tallprawn |
