That helipad on the Armada Perkasa's got Leeson's name all over it come the big sell in circa 2009!

Have a cool Yule people and here's hoping AFR stick 2 fingers up at a potentially sh1tty market in 2008.

Leeson, have i got those lines right mate? cos if I have, with OBV leveling from a fall and RSI turning up, i reckon we will break the top wedge line, well more likely than testing lower line anyway. The wedge forms a point in february approx at about 110-115p, but if we break it and hold, i guess well have to draw another one lol

older stuff from Scandinavian oil and gas

London-based Africa explorer Afren has bought all of Devon Energy's interests in Angola and Ghana, including a 95 percent stake in the prospective Kheta block and 15 percent in Block 16.

Undrilled deepwater sandstone prospects have been worked up by Devon at Kheta off Ghana, while in Angola, Block 16 offers the Maersk-operated Lower Congo Basin with Miocene and Oligocene "discoveries, prospects, leads and (mapped) play types", an Afren statement said.

A billion barrels of oil equivalent are expected in place in Block 16.

The Keta block in Ghana is well covered by 3D survey work and reserves are of up to 500 million boe are envisioned. The Mahogany and Hyedua discoveries of the past year bode well for Keta, while Angola Block 16 lies "adjacent and on trend" with 45 significant discoveries, Afren chief exec Osman Shahenshah was quoted as saying.

No problem Jack. I might be off the hook for a while although I'd prefer to see the back of 106. Maybe tomorrow eh?

Too true Gilty

If Morgan Stanly can return the same profit that Wellington have we'll all be happy.

Mikey, apologies, no joy. Any success over here. Does that fact that they're no lnger £1.06 get you off the hook?

They have made profit for clients so it's to be expected that they take some.

Clients happy, Wellies happy and they still have plenty invested.

Isn't that how it should be?

Must have been MS taking them. No worries.

ps. Don't they have to declare everytime they cross a percentage boundary? Perhaps they shifted them all the other day when the volume was high.

Posted by FraserDean over on iii.

According to the Sonangol list just out Afren have prequalified as an operator in the current licensing round.
Obviously doesn't mean they will definitely get operatorship of anything but who you know does help and with the Cabinda and Block 16 stuff they're starting to build up a sizeable asset base in the country. Hopefully meaning they're derisking in the eyes of the market away from Nigeria.
