20/12/2007 17:12 | Hi Jack, I used £20,000 as a figure for the chat there and that volume should incur around £250 fees. £20 would be for £1000 - £1500 deal I think. I wish you guys had popped in here to mention Encore in passing..... | mikey_b
20/12/2007 16:54 | Lees, Mikey £250 selling charges? I do my mine with TD Waterhouse & NWest. Only costs around £20 as a trade fee? Same for the buy trade + stamp. Yes enjoyed Encore today as well. Still enjoy AFR most though :-) JB | jack brent

20/12/2007 16:47 | Hi, guys. Been over at the Encore thread all day. I had a hunch that it would rise sharply today and bingo! Nice action here this afternoon as well. Do you have any T20's open at the moment, Leeson? | ilancas

20/12/2007 16:26 | Stuart enters Angola Monday, December 17, 2007 ANGOLA has become the focus of a second Australian-listed petroleum company, with Stuart Petroleum announcing it had formed a joint venture to explore for onshore oil in the West African nation. Seismic in Angola Stuart's entry follows earlier exploration efforts by Roc Oil, which has had a mixed degree of success to date. In a statement today, Stuart said it had teamed up with Giraul Petroleum, a privately owned Angolan-based company, to evaluate opportunities in the country for oil discovery and development. This follows an announcement by the Angolan State oil concessionaire, Sonangol that Stuart successfully pre-qualified as an operator for the bidding round, which opened December 13. Stuart managing director Tino Guglielmo said he expected new seismic and exploration techniques were expected to define oil targets in the 3 to 30 million barrel size range. "Onshore acreage in Angola has remained dormant over the past 30 years and has yet to be the subject of modern exploration techniques and technologies," he said. "We look forward to working with Giraul by bringing to the Angolan industry Stuart's more than 200 man-years of onshore operating oil experience. Angola has a quality human resource base and an administration which is committed to growing the Angolan economy." The permitting process is expected to lead to onshore exploration licences being awarded in mid 2008. | makkaroni
20/12/2007 16:18 | someone just took 48odd tousand shs off evo then, and then evo were stright back with 50,000 shs on the bid.... they want your stock, or theyre collecting anyway.. | leeson31
20/12/2007 16:13 | no worries mate. just as the share price was 102.5 to 103p i knew some stock would be put up at an order price of 102.75p. but for support, evo are now at the 102.5p level with 50,000 shs.. seems safe at 102.25p bid area, and if those damn order stopped creepinin below the 103p level this would be higher. some oen seems to be keep dripping 25,000 to 50,000 shs on the offer each time the share price reaches an mm level rather than an order.. | leeson31
20/12/2007 16:10 | cheers Leeson, was expecting something along those lines... | 5bag
20/12/2007 15:59 | quite a few orders supporting the 102.25 level 5 bag.. evo seem keen to take stock of us, theyve been buying stock for a coupl e of days with 50,000 shs each time.. | leeson31
20/12/2007 15:43 | im holding for 106p area Mikey, but, i think the actual share price is now ready for a new higher level... lots of pl think all the rise of late is down to institutions, and it mainly is, but, ever so closer to production is the reason in my mind.. i reckon it'l fun n fireworks when afren issue their first rns adviisng production is at circa 4000 to 5000 bopd, probaly in march.. but i think we have other news b4 that though.... we'll see :-) worst case scenario on this particular deal is that it doesnt go up, nut i can either roll it, or just buy it.. i see it as a no lose situation... unless the share price tanked, but i dont think it will... then id have to buy more . lol | leeson31
20/12/2007 15:42 | Anyone , how is L2 at the mo, strong? | 5bag
20/12/2007 15:33 | clear breakdown. No broker charge @1.18% at sell time then. | mikey_b
20/12/2007 15:14 | also, when i buy, i tell the broker i want X price and wont pay more even if on t25, and i always seem to get it, but, i do try to time my deal when looking for level two weakness.. cheers | leeson31
20/12/2007 15:12 | Yeah... If i buy 20,000 shs at 100p that £20,000 cost. 1.18% broker charge = £236 0.5% tax levy = £100 PTM charge = £1 Compliance charge = £7.50 charges = £344.5 Total cost = £20,344.50 Break even = 101.72 (1.72% ) Each penny thereafer = £200 nett ( less T25 closing fee of £25) (break even net = 101.84p including t25 closing fee) (1.84% fee's) but thats via equity deal, rather than spreadbet... | leeson31
20/12/2007 15:06 | and: When dealing on an Extended Settlement period of longer than T+10 the Retail Service Providers are not obliged to offer the displayed price and may add a funding charge of up to 1%. Therefore the Dealing Representative will canvas a number of Retail Service Providers directly to acquire the best price available to you. So £20k buy will have about £250 in buy harges + realise 20,000 shares approx. Then 1% charge - £200 Then £250 selling charges So you need around 5% to breakeven and that's ignoring any tax (IoM excluded). Is that really beneficial over a short term SB ? | mikey_b
20/12/2007 15:03 | thks Mikey. I must admit, there has been times with my broker where i should have paid a bill on t25 value date, but rang 'em up on the value date and just asked if i could pay a week later, and they were fine with it... so got even more credit that the actual t25.... long history with them i suppose. but now i keep a fair wack with them anyways so dont need that kind of assistance. ( altho it was only cos i cudnt b bothered going into town to drop a cheque off lol) | leeson31
