No one can predict the future and who knows whether an offer may be coming in or not. Regardless, as I have argued in an earlier post on this board the fair value for the company, is above £4 a share. If broader markets avoid another major leg down, we should be climbing up from current levels on the company's own fundamental merit. The counter argument would be for the markets to head south in which case the 888 momentum train may go in reverse. Don't think we can worry too much where the markets are going to be at time X in the future (because we can do nothing about it) but rather plan in advance what exactly we are going to do when the market gets there. seems like the Check Raise by the owners on the WH offer might have been a good move. I feel a better offer coming

Multi year highs certainly bodes well. One thing which may spoil the party is a major down leg in the broader markets which may inevitably hurt sentiment in 888 as well. Until then, enjoy. Otherwise jump off the train (for those who consider momentum in their strategy like myself) heading south.

Hills needed to manage their PTEC relationship better. They are the real power behind online and have really shaken up LADs888 is just to grey market but it does have some very savvy street fighters on the board

I read this in The Telegraph's iPhone app and thought you'd like to read it: There is an article about William Hill needing to invest in their online division in this piece.

Looks like its peaked a little too high. Its been a great run for the last weeks day. Cut and grabbed the profits.
See what happens and re-invest when it looks like it rising again.
Great company and likely to have a good future with dividends and takeover potential.

Still think the downside risks outweigh the upside at these levels. Sell down to 190 for me

Thinking that is a nice short from this point now. Any views? Can't see a takeover premium at this price...

On a different note, you hate it when executives get nil cost option. Classic failure of corporate governance.

James - apparently you haven't read my post explaining my strategy. It's called the trend is your friend. I find the combination of Value with Momentum far more powerful that using Value approach alone. I pyramid on the way up and sell below a predetermined level (bailed out below 170p and re-entered in stages between 181 and 198). There are a few more transactions involved but you also control risk exactly they way you want to. www.investopedia.com/articles/trading/09/pyramid-trading.asp

I am not a holder here, I would have thought WH will
either buy 888 or sink.

Good luck to holders.

Or it could be my gvc taking a look.
