Totally agree with you tradertrev. The position of First Equity has no sense. It' just a collateral. Oh the other side the increase of schroder position is very interesting. It' s a signal that schroder believe in the carclo turnaround and in the carclo performance improvement in the next future in terms of margin a cash flow

I suspect that the shares sold are collateral held by First Equity in respect of a loan to William Black backed by his Carclo holding. The earlier collapse in the Carclo share price would have required more collateral to be posted/transferred to FE who have not unreasonably (for them) taken the opportunity to sell on the strength.
This is only conjecture however. These First Equity arrangements are pretty complex.

I'm surprised he didn't wait for full year results, maybe Schroders knows something he doesn't, wait and see time...

Disappointing ( but perhaps understandable ) to see William Black taking a quick 50% on approx. 1m shares that he bought relatively recently. But nice to see Schroders hoovering those shares up !

You are right about the past But now carclo has a ceo skin in the game. He is putting in place a good restructuring plan for the Ctp division and if thq company will have a ramp up in terms of client orders we will see an upside in terms of margin and cash flow generation. Reading the last trading update something is already happened in th Q4 of the 2023/2024 fiscal year.

This company is good at making things but its financial management has been exceedingly poor. It’s a company to trade not to hold,

this statement of TU gives evidence that the best has yet to come:

"Moreover, an analysis of profit and cash flow in Q4 shows a stronger performance compared to Q3, indicating the positive trajectory we are on and a robust response to market demands as the year progressed. This quarterly insight not only demonstrates our operational success but also reinforces the effectiveness of our strategic focus in driving financial health and stability"

because it gives us the following information about Q4:

market demand is finally increasing after the destocking post covid
effciency plan start to give its fruits

if we mix this information with the high probbility of interest rate decrease in the next future, a downtrend of energy price, a revaluation of pension liabilities that could bring a renegotiation of cash outflow due to pension contribution

we will see a good generation of free cash flow in the next quarters with a further debt reduction

Best to let the dust settle before jumping in long way to go IMO...2025 could see significant increase in profits, margins are still small compared to T/O...

To get to reality investors need to weigh up the tiny market cap, with the big sales base, with the margin potential post restructuring, with the pension deficit and with the net debt (and that figure you quote is post ifrs lease liabilities, stripping that out it is closer to £20m). All of these things have been discussed previously on this board. I weigh it all up and see very attractive risk/reward at this level. Others have a different view.. ATB

"Carclo now enjoys a strong financial foundation..."

Words I didn't expect to read in a Carclo TU. Well done! Surely that merits a decent bounce in the shareprice.

Indeed. The statement is a bit short on facts and figures again, but compliance with covenants is also a big objective tick. If they can get through the restructuring and see material margin gains as a result, then the upside potential from this level of valuation is fantastic... ATB

William Black must see something in this dog, adding more, maybe that 233k trade.
