10/5/2024 14:10 | As it was in the DRC that deposit may well have been higher grade than Verkhuba, but yes an interesting comparison. | mattybuoy

10/5/2024 13:49 | It is hard to find comparable assets, not just because they are in Kazakhstan but also because the buyer (if close by) might not need to develop any processing infrastructure, greatly enhancing the economics. Nzuri Copper in the DRC was a very similar size: 211,000T of copper, as well as 25,00t of cobalt. In Oct 2017, at the time of sale, copper was trading at $6,800/t, more than 32% lower than today, and with zero of the tailwind. I'm not sure whether the buyer (Chengtun Mining - Chinese) had to develop all the infrastructure, but I believe they would have had to. The sale price in 2017 was US$79m. So my best guess is at Verkhuba, the copper alone should be worth at least $75m - 90m today on a like-for-like comparison. No idea of the discounts to be applied (or the multiplier perhaps of existing infrastructure, etc.) | vesperdene
10/5/2024 10:06 | Ought to be worth $50m of anyone's money. | mattybuoy
10/5/2024 10:00 | Watching the interview from last week, CEO says he expects to deliver Verkhuba farm-out (or sale) announcement by the end of June this year. As that's just a few weeks away I don't think he would be saying that unless he was pretty sure. As a reminder... 236,000 tonnes of contained copper @ $10,000/t = $2.36 billion. 313,000 tonnes of contained zinc @ 2,800/t = $876m. Total over $3 billion. | someuwin

09/5/2024 09:28 | Funny no one else picked up on Alex's uranium deal with the Phoenix lads. Nice lil side hustle. | shortcpx

07/5/2024 11:48 | East Star looking like a coiled spring on the chart. | amelio
05/5/2024 10:39 | Another interesting article! Shows how kazackstan is growing in terms of mining and minerals, hopefully we see more of this across the region. | spangle111

02/5/2024 12:50 | I’m a fan of the location. Clearly BHP are as well, 2 of their 6 selected candidates for the 2024 Xplor grant are Kaz based. East Star the only LSE listed company as well. | amelio
02/5/2024 12:40 | 'Infrastructure led exploration' | thelung
02/5/2024 12:36 | I think the location is great. The number of places where you can actually get a copper mine built is getting smaller and smaller. Kazakhstan is one of them. | mattybuoy
02/5/2024 12:22 | Amello it is the location I suspect but as TCMC says ...someone else's opportunity | seagreen
02/5/2024 08:58 | Lack of attention is someone else's opportunity... | the count of monte_cristo
02/5/2024 08:13 | Quite incredible how little retail attention East Star is seeing. Whilst free float is small and volume has picked up in recent weeks, compared to other garbage juniors on AIM that trade at far higher volume frequently, it does puzzle me. | amelio |
