I dont think gdwn needs a split. Look what share price has done longterm, without it... patience and execution

I'm hearing from 'the kids on the street' that GDWN's liquidity is such that it'll be included in the FTSE All-Share at the next evaluation (it had been excluded on liquidity grounds previously) and that indeed it is a potential candidate for the inclusion in the FTSE 250 if the share price stays starting with a 7 at the end of May.

I am wondering whether Goodwin is a candidate to be promoted soon to the FTSE250 index.

According to Sharecast website, Goodwin's market cap is now around £488m, and there are currently about 12 companies in FTSE250 with a market cap less than that.

Might account for some of the recent buying interest/share price rise?

Its a concentrated share register with, to the best of my knowledge, no instititions. The tender at 48 pounds a year ago meant that trading or loose shareholders have exited.

When new buyers appear, there are no natural sellers hence the price goes up

Vespel SP-21 (with 15% graphite) is priced at around 5000 USD per kilo.

I used a 12.7cm x 12.7cm x 0.8cm sheet which weighs around 200 grams and is sold for 1150 USD at Boedeker.

So plenty of potential to undercut on price and still achieve great margins.

Vespel SP-21 (with 15% graphite) is more expensive at around 6000 USD for a 1.25x 38 inch rod.

Gdwn appear to offer 3 formulations GO01, GO21 (15% graphite) & GO22 (40% graphite) which match up against Dupont Vespel products SP-1, SP-21 (15% graphite), SP-22 (40% graphite).

I was under the impression that it was priced considerably cheaper than PEEK (at least initially to gain market share).

see polyimide resin outcompetes wonder material PEEK in some applications,
wonder how it compares on price?

To be fair, there's a certain amount of expectation baked into a share price of ~5500p.

A lot depends on what you think eps is going to be this FY and what the likely profit growth is beyond that. If, say, eps is between 225 and 255p for this FY and we're looking at sustainable profit growth of between 15 and 25% per annum after that, then I think the current share price is justified.

But if we're not hitting those sorts of growth rates and ended up only hitting medium term growth rates of 10 to 12%, then we're likely looking at a PEG ratio of >2.0, which is generally reduce or sell up territory in my book.

Basically the price. A lot of optimism is baked into the share price at the moment.

My reservations about the new management :
- they started with a share bonus plan that was very generous for a management that hadn't proved anything yet
- for years now they have been touting about the imminent profit rises for their machining operation, but that for some reason never came
- different (=more optimistic) way of booking backlog
- Easat : they projected higher profits based on important new orders that up to now never materialised

Maybe I'm just impatient, but anyhow I was more comfortable with the style of Richard & John.
