Well we are now on the verge of a TU, what will today bring ? I expect the markets will react well to Biden news and now assured a trump victory unless a rabbit is pulled out the hat by the Biden camp. Markets should like this sense of certainty going forward and hopefully bring some sense to the mad world we are in at the moment.Also Let's hope labour don't mess up the UK and strangle business here. Tax rises already being hinted at to pay for inflation busting pay rises for teachers and NHS staff. Which I expect will spread across the civil service and embolden unions

Hey Sparky, appreciate the response thank you.Clearly I was wrong in questioning / challenging you using the word "transformational" as you have quoted the companies RNS which I hadn't picked up.Apologies for that..I would like to see YU. Evidencing that this deal is actually transformational and how, instilling confidence into investors that underpins that strategic decision to outsource this part of the business. Fwiw, I believe it was the right thing to do. some might say releasing £50 M cash by this deal is already transforming but I'm not quite there yet.. Again, thank you for responding and pointing out my error.

You should listen to HH, sounds very level headed and pragmatic, unlike yourself.
The Shell deal could definitely be described as transformational - released cash for YU, but if they default on the deal covenants then Shell get the business.

Quick one sparky, I don't think we can say that the shell deal is transformational, not just yet.i agree having the monies released is certainly another positive step forwards, I would like to see the company reporting and evidencing the deal has been a great move.I would suggest this would take more than one period of trading to evidence this, plus, as we don't (and shouldn't) know the detail, we have to rely on the YU. Team to keep delivering as they have.I am positive on this stock and one of my biggest (value terms) holdings and I see this growing, maybe not as fast over the next 12 months as we have the last 12, but I like good surprises..

Doesn't look like this has the legs to make a new 52w high before the TU.Perhaps it will on the 23rd, perhaps it will return to the previous descending channel or fill the gap at c 1360 (doubtful IMO).

A couple of posters on LSE (SNN & NG) have pointed me into the right direction about some elements of the Shell deal.There is a collateral element which is related to one month of working capital. And the latest Annual Report (Note 25) stated:"The Group has entered into Trading Agreements with the Shell Group in February 2024 to provide access to commodity markets. As part of this arrangement there is a requirement to meet certain covenants, a fixed and floating charge (including mandate over certain banking arrangements in the event of default) over the main trading subsidiaries of the Group, being YU Energy Holding Limited and YU Energy Retail Limited, and a parent company guarantee from the Company.So basically if YU breach the covenants (whatever they are specifically - is it the WC!) and Shell get the business. The details around the covenant haven't been divulged (yet).

The market on the other hand is expecting the update to blow the doors off, an in-line and IMO down she goes. The caveat to that scenario being what they say they are doing with all that cash. But will that be enough to please or displease.Plus the rate of pleasure or pain will also take on board the share price movement up to the TU.

Only today and Monday to be in or out.The question is will the results be good, excellent or mind blowing.Jury's out until Tuesday 0700hrs Remember we are not priced for excellent and mind blowing the market has priced us like a lumbering utility, YU have proved to date they are not that, but profitable high growth.Place your bets folks either way Tuesday is going to a real eye opener especially as the shackles have been removed with the transformational Shell deal.
