06/8/2021 12:57 | Another bucket full picked up at mid price.Looks to me something is being worked at 250p level | sparky333
06/8/2021 08:13 | And below is why YU are in critical mass growth phase. The overheads and infrastructure is fixed at X everything above this is a billy bonus Ie a £10m increase in turnover doesn't reflect a 10% increase in overheads So an big increase in commodity costs increases turnover and therefore reflects on YUs bottom line in a positive way.I am estimating turnover of £130 to £140m for 2021, I am now thinking this maybe conservative. | sparky333
06/8/2021 08:00 | Agreed.Let's think about this logically So for existing contracts the energy is forward hedged at X with YUs gross margin on top For new contracts they will be hedged at X ie fixed at the best bulk price they could hedge at with smartest. Therefore I see no impact in YU other than stronger cash flow due to the higher prices But the YU gross margins will be static and overheads will be static So say for ease gross margin is 10% YU buy £1m and sell it on for 1,100,000 leaving 100,000 for YUNow if bulk prices go up 10% The new contracts will reflect this change as they pass it onSo turnover would be 1,100,000 and YU put 10% on top Therefore under higher prices YU,s cash flow actually increase to 1,210,000Leaving 110,000 to YU.Please correct me if I am way off the mark here in my thinking | sparky333
06/8/2021 07:49 | Frankly I haven’t a clue, hence the ‘might’, all I know is that the larger companies will benefit through stronger hedging strategies. There are no good deals now, for the consumer it is about being economic and wearing more clothes come winter. No excuse to turn the heating on until November, and best bet to go to bed earlier as that is generally the warmest place in the house. | bookbroker
06/8/2021 07:42 | I personally believe the opposite and the price rise will supercharge cash flow and profit as company scramble to lock in deals | sparky333
06/8/2021 07:41 | So how does that work then? The doomsters on here state they lose money when prices are low and also when they are high. For the current contracts they have already forward bought the commodity, this is why so many lost suppliers lost money during lock down YU lost 1.8m in H1 2020, as they under used and had to sell back.Your argument doesn't hold water | sparky333
06/8/2021 07:37 | They might be losing money currently if the wholesale price is so strong. | bookbroker
06/8/2021 07:26 | Interesting move by OFGEM and reinforcing what we already knew, energy prices are rising fast, which in my simple mind means more cash flow and profit for YU. | sparky333
04/8/2021 16:23 | Lots of buying today the 7.5k was a late reported buy | sparky333
04/8/2021 15:24 | Total agree, the share price is being played with and until buyer come in force games will be played | sparky333
04/8/2021 15:19 | I will repeat what I said the other day in that "July as good if not better then June". All said and done the market will react whether its this week or in the coming months, 2.50 will look like a steal. | cocker
