My other broker execution only, and very prompt to answer the 'phone, which is a must for quick trading of shares. His PHP tip is for the M.E.N. annual competition between local brokers, of which our mutual broker won several times, but 4th last year with ESH (up 34%).
If Barc results good on Thurs., and price drops (as they sometimes do) looking to pick up more as they might bounce.
Bought TRT yesterday before they rose. Also bought TOU as they seem to have bottomed for now, ahead of results in a couple of weeks.

Got my fingers crossed for BARC on Thursday.

Keeping my powder dry to add FTO and SEO which both rose last week after RNSs. Both are still high risk.

TNL gave the expected announcement today but has not set the world on fire,as yet.

Is your other northern broker as sound as our mutual one?

I can give you one of my phone numbers if you can state a time to come onto this site. I will edit the number out again after we make contact. It will be my cable line which I usually use only for dial-up internet.

I have not gone onto broadband yet.

Spotted you both on the Barc. board ! I too have held and traded Barc. shares for some years now, expecting good results Thurs. Not posted on that board as yet.

To the tune of the well no song?

No! I'm not one of those. I'm in these.

I obviously should have bought some lundhousegreen! My Investment Club were slightly more bullish on other propositions last week so they are still out of this one. Hey ho...........we'll see.

Have the market makers been reading your post, ygor705? The non voters up 2 days on the trot, the voting stock not moved (as yet) !!
Edit. Voters up today , but not as much as non voters.

The non voters look better value to me at the moment - the market usually expects a 7 1/2% to 10% premium for voting rights.

Despite pull back at end of week YNGA rose 42.5p and YNGN rose 25p on the week according to Channel 4s Teletext.

PHP is not a rocket stock it just tends to move to a new level every so often as is happening now. Tends to settle down at around current net asset value which is probably £3 to £3.20 at the moment. If you want some real excitement (but it is not an asset play) have a look at Sportingbet.

Swinga and roundabouts for me today.

Thwaites and JHD up nicely. FTO one of my two speculative penny stocks
up .38p.

UU. down sharply for two days after slow and consistent rises. And Youngs dropping back.

Thought about swapping PFD into IGOR's tip PHP yesterday but didn't

PHP up two days running - PFD down today - typical.
PHP seems a good tip though IGOR. Thank you.

I have an interest in some banks. They recovered a little today after dropping back yesterday. Again vague rumour re Lloy which was up to 497 Bid price before falling back.

A friend tipped Oakdene Properties, OKD, today . Seems good but I am fully stretched at the moment. Still hoping for a boost to TNL to come soon when they announce the sale of their freehold land for building.

I bought this some time ago as a property play - with excellent beer. Perhaps they are going to move out of Wansworth ? in London. No idea of revalued net assets per share.

Looked a bumpy ride about 2000, but currrently very positive. IMO it is the general lack of available shares that is keeping the price high, and Zeppo's (post #25) point of possible news in the pipeline. Also the current shareholders seem very reluctant (me included) to part with their shares.(There's also share buybacks by the company which have helped the share price.)
The management team, including family members, keep the company direction focused.
Hopeful of more (share price rises)to come.
