The company has also said that FY was a one off, so nothing new from the parrott, just regurgitating the company comment. Cheap copy.

IC article points out that FY22 is a bit of a one-off and current year EPS will be down by about a half. HOLD. FWIW

Great results this morning. Boring the company may be, even if it had an 86% EPS increase, but its such a solid performer with 19 years of dividend growth (10% increase this year). Odd how dependable companies like this, with net cash, get overlooked by many investors for story stocks! FY23 clearly won't be as good but the underlying trend in the business is upwards. There is a presentation from management on Friday at mid-day.

I was only joking about the weather, just been tree planting last week ; we like it wet.

Its not that stock is back out in the fields. With wet grounds the stock would cut the ground up badly.
Plus grass does not grow in the winter in the cold.
I see the dip as a buying opportunity.

or is it because feed sales are down because of the mild weather and beasts can be out in the fields . But avian flu puts all the poultry back inside so need subsidiary feed. Complex business ! but in spite of ups and downs sound as a pound !

Beware the confident attribution of the reason for a share price movement on a BB!
Clearly the price of WYNN has fallen because the wet weather has stopped farmers being able to drive to the stores.

Well that's what I thought. My comment was a response to #691.

WYN fuel? Not at all!!

I should think the high price of fuel is more likely to be a PROBLEM for WYNN - it leaves the farmers strapped for cash to buy the products farmers DO buy from WYNN !!!

In this crazily volatile market I don't think a 10 or 15% move necessarily signifies anything significant.

Fuel? Is that a significant part of WYN's sales? It doesn't get a mention in the accounts.

I've broken my own rules today and stepped in to grab the falling knife! Most unlike me, but there has been no real explanation for the fall despite a recent positive trading update and if something significant had changed, they would have been obliged to put out another RNS. I don't know anything about ANP but a quick look at their trading statement suggests their problems are quite unrelated to WYN.

Just topped up, haven't bet the farm, so fingers X-ed.

Think ANP's trading statement played a part, possible weakness in the sector

I wonder if the big acquisition talked about last year is now back on and a rights issue at around 500p is on the cards?

I sold out at 621 last April, having bought not all that long before at an average of 260.(a price which seemed inexplicably low to my bird brain). I have been waiting (impatiently) to renter ever since, as the business seems to me only to have improved since then. Today I repurchased half at 535, so it was worth the wait. It would be wonderful to be able to repurchase the other half at 260, but that could be a very long wait indeed. All the same, its a volatile market so getting the other half sub 500 must be on the cards.

Carr's has not had much joy the last year, so WYN must be doing something right. I remember buying Carr's at about 90 years ago, and sold (can't remember why) at about 140. That sale worked out well, but I have spent 8 months wondering whether I had been stupid selling WYN as it held rock steady around 600 last year while the wheels came off other stocks.

Let's hope WYN does not turn into another Carr's ... The market has me foxed at present, but selling peaks with a view to getting back in cheaper does seem to be the way to play a volatile market. The limit order is a wonderful thing. Set and forget.

some say on stockopedia, the mild winter, thus far, is not helping with their feed business- can't imagine Wyro will be doing well but is a very, very small fraction.

Had a limit buy order triggered today that has been sitting patiently for 6 weeks.559p is the lowest buy price in 8 months , even 1p cheaper than the share issue in August.
The drop seems a bit out of kilter with the market , though I can find no news. Maybe the new ELMS announcements will impinge on WYN but as there is no real detail, hard to conclude.

Cost of £1.4 to £1.5 M for an asset that generated £0.42M profit last year seems a tremendous bargain . Looked up their last few yrs accounts filings, which are a bit opaque but look consistent to my non-forensic assessment. Good that one of the 2 directors is joining the board. I am tempted to add here, it has been one of the most stable holdings in our portfolio over the last 3 yrs.
Just noticed an IC article last week that was more cautious, concluding hold.
