24/1/2021 15:47 | My experience with dbay is that they like to buy in at under valued price point. They also will look for companies that have potential to do a little better than the current management is doing. By building a stake and taking an influential position with / on the BoD, or even making a bid and taking it private, they turn a business with potential into one that is fulfilling it. The recent growth in the share price, and dare I say it some upswing in growth in revenues, MAY be slightly contrary to the strategy for deployment of funds for dbay, therefore. (That's just a guess). | thorpematt
24/1/2021 13:55 | eggnbacon Dbay bought a big slug at an incredible bargain price when Investec were dumping in April 2019. I guess they'll see it as a great trade once exited and move on etc. Maybe feel there's not much they can add to WYN. Go and look through holdings over last 12 months.. I think it's worth more (4-500p) but each to his own etc... | eezymunny
23/1/2021 12:28 | Looks like results will be out on Wednesday. Stock is trading on 10x earnings which looks too cheap to me, particularly given that the post-Brexit disruption to supply chains should see increased demand for British farm outputs. One thing I'll be looking for is for commentary on the Wyro JV - it seems from media reports that its housing scheme in Powys is selling well. | pdosullivan
22/1/2021 14:55 | Just doing some research on this. No mention here as far as I can see why Dbay are off loading all their stock. Or have I not gone back far enough? Please can anyone enlighten me? Thank you. | eggbaconandbubble
22/1/2021 11:51 | It's worth over a fiver IMO. | value hound

I've been holding for some time in an income folio, but there looks like quite a lot of growth too. Just view the stats on Stocko. | brucie5
22/1/2021 11:00 | Maybe DBay have run out of stock. | arthur_lame_stocks

23/11/2020 21:35 | Hi all, My mate Peter @Conkers3 and myself did a ‘Twin Petes Investing’ Podcast a few days ago and part of our discussion includes WYN which looks pretty good value to me. We also chatted about loads of other Stocks and Ideas for research and did a particular bit about Luck vs Skill. We also discussed the outlook for Markets and as usual a fair bit of educational stuff with regards to Investing. Anyway, if you use Apple, Audioboom, Overcast or Spotify you can find it under the 'Conkers Corner' Channel (you want Podcast TPI 36) and you can find it on Soundcloud at the link below. It is also now on Youtube. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful, Cheers, WD @wheeliedealer | thewheeliedealer
18/11/2020 19:04 | Share buybacks would be very accretive. | pdosullivan
18/11/2020 17:40 | Covered in the latest Investor's Champion update - return on equity of only 7% for a business that has been around since 1918 highlights the issues for many and the shares have made little progress over recent years. Regular dividend though! | energeticbacker
18/11/2020 13:47 | Bear in mind, too, that this was 660p as recently as March 2017, and was over a fiver in the summer of 2018; the latter being more of a reasonable valuation of c.£100m IMO given earnings and NTAV of almost £82m. It's never going to command a heady multiple as it's not exactly exciting and is subject to the vagaries of market forces and the weather. They only really had one blip in March of last year (unseasonably warm winter) but this is largely beyond their control and will happen from time to time - and even given all that, it's surely worth at least fiver if they keep this up. | value hound
18/11/2020 12:55 | And companies with a good divi yield like this one will be in demand next year as interest rates remain low. | texaspete2
18/11/2020 12:03 | An excellent update today and, as others have said, a satisfactory resolution of the current Brexit uncertainty should hopefully be a catalyst for a further re-rating. | pdosullivan
18/11/2020 10:22 | Quite so. Remarkable how some really solid companies are still so undervlaued. I think a lot of the fluff is gonna come of the market but this one still WAY undervalued. | thorpematt
18/11/2020 08:42 | Why this kept dipping below three quid is beyond me. Proper Eezymunny. Feels like should trade in the 400´s on that statement to me. The balance sheet is simply too pretty and earnings apparently pretty resilient. | eezymunny
18/11/2020 08:41 | Nice move up on back of excellent update. Further boost should arise once (if) Brexit issues resolved..... Certainly agree £4 should be easily reached...... | jaf111
18/11/2020 07:39 | Yes, a very good update. | redartbmud
18/11/2020 07:12 | Excellent news - the journey to >£4 should start today! :-) | value hound
18/11/2020 07:09 | That's certainly a decent update. | games
28/10/2020 21:24 | Well in fairness the "sense" is driven by the priniciple that if one is pretty certain that the market will fall, then being first out allows you to lock in the most profit and re-invest the largest amount on any re-purchase. Conversely, the folly of such methods revolve around the prnciples that one can never be truly certain and that timing is not always prefect. I would love a retrace here to £2 based on such activites, because I am fully aware that in all reality this particuar stock is not particularly effected by COVID restrictions. | thorpematt
28/10/2020 09:25 | There's never any sense in it, what generally happens are funds hold back buying people start selling the fear but there aren't large buyers coming in so the MMs have to balance the orders my moving the prices down, eventually it snowballs and people panic. It's just the way the market has to balance orders. | creditcrunchies |
