30/6/2006 20:04 | One step forward and two steps back...and even some big leaps both ways seems to be way of it lately. So when I found this I was so impressed I'm passing it along! | ![]() ritgar
30/6/2006 19:24 | sorry for that - just been resolving a dispute about "High 5"... yes in live this morning - don't trade the opening move - let it run & wait for the first move or two to play out - so you have anywhere from 5-30+ mins - here is most of the first hour this morning initially down, then up, then down, then failed retest of the up (about 0815 from memory). this is 1min candles. I get the impression from some of Joe's posts that he's doing something similar not a recommendation of course!! edited: stop above the HOD - and before open look back at the two day 5min - the MA is quite a way away down so good chance of it drifting down, as well as the opening gap to resolve | edwood19
30/6/2006 19:20 | joe, is that part of the horse? | dave37
30/6/2006 19:13 | aint that advice for moregas? lol | leeshindig
30/6/2006 19:03 | ed have you traded it with a demo yet though?.. would the prices you see on the chart be tradeable that close to open with a SB? | leeshindig
30/6/2006 19:01 | yes ed I did.. I see what you mean about it.. could be handy for when your "down under" | leeshindig
30/6/2006 19:00 | moonie typing impo is enough.. as long as you have a disclaimer we all know where we stand eh | leeshindig
30/6/2006 18:58 | nice did you see my FTSE chart earlier showing morning spikes for the past few days? | edwood19
30/6/2006 18:56 | short now for two weeks imo....not advising you to do same just saying it in a private capacity on a free bb | joe moon
30/6/2006 18:53 | sorry mate just re-read my post - I meant to say I would've traded the same drop you did (in case I wasn't clear) agree on zero positions pre- big announcements - unless you're doing straddles - so for me aim to get in once the trend confirms | edwood19
30/6/2006 18:48 | bloody jarmans eh | leeshindig
30/6/2006 18:46 | no German has missed in the penalty shootout of a major tournament since 1976 | joe moon
30/6/2006 18:45 | as linaker said "football is a game of two halves and the germans win on penalties" | joe moon
30/6/2006 18:41 | maybe any other data release, but I would not take a position before a fed annoucnement or non farms payrolls on dollar.. it could easily gap well above or blow your stop.. unless you use guaranteed ones once the initial spike is done then if your brave maybe..lol | leeshindig
30/6/2006 18:15 | GSands - alledgedly. read back through the last couple of dozen posts over there - quite amazing the size of some of the losses fwiw I would have played that trade Lee given the move before it - it worked out fine didn't it? do you have a strategy for trading news? there's gotta be a low risk one that suits you (other than sitting on your hands! :-)) | edwood19
30/6/2006 18:00 | who lost 30k? | joe moon
30/6/2006 17:40 | sat on my hands unfortunately !! Ive given up trading news on FX..like I said in that e mail, Ive two times a day when I feel comfrtable trading cable, and if I havent got piece and quiet round the house or time to follow it, I wont bother had a flutter on the dow tho... literally.. a proper casino trade lol.. have a good weekend mate.. | leeshindig
30/6/2006 17:23 | hello mate, sheesh the truth came out over there hey! LOL! sorry if I stirred it up a bit but you summed it up perfectly - to lose £30k flippantly, post with inconsistent views and a very aggressive (i.e., ND & PD = top & bottom picking approach) means anyone applying it is headed for a very stressful short-term trading existance - imo. That cartoon character sums it up. Shame as there are some good posters on there (IV, Easy etc) but GS just gets too carried away & too opinionated anyway - Mrs away on a hen do this w/end so me alone with the girls - missed that drop earlier unfortunately - did you catch any of the cable yesterday? | edwood19
30/6/2006 16:31 | nasdaq leading the way down so far.. if this rallys from here I cant see it making a new high just yet.. I have a count that would suggest this is just B of a larger correction, but Im a bit unsure.. any other wave counts about? | leeshindig
26/6/2006 17:11 | Both laborious sites to post on imo, I have posted on ADVFN for years, like the format, and won't roll over, give in, or be run off by any poster. Not that I have a great problem with any really, if I had I'd simply use the filter, thats what it's for. | jack tile |
