Interesting article about what may have spooked the commercial property market.Potential changes to corporation tax which may restrict the amount of interest charges which companies can deduct against profits when calculating their corporation tax liabilities. It is possible the Chancellor will not allow interest costs in excess of 30% of EBITDA to be allowed against corporation tax. Potentially this could affect any companies that are highly geared or have large assets which are financed via debt.hTTp://www.sharesoc.org/blog.htmlDD

seems to be an up then down day for a few property companies but they all seem to have had good falls over the last while. The wider market is having a big effect and the banking sectors still all over the place not to mention oil

Nice timing mrjohnson. It's only taken about 5 weeks for this to go from its 52 week high (a week after its positive IMS), to its 52 week low yesterday.......then today!!.alroyrob - this has fallen a lot more than DLN, BLND, etc, a helluva lot more!. Wouldn't be too surprised, after today's share price action, that we get a holdings RNS - cynical maybe!.DD

Bought my first tranche today at £7.58. I'm normally a long term investor unless circumstances change significantly. If the price drops to £7 on no news, will probably buy more. Very volatile markets at the moment! Also bought Bellway & Galliford Try after selling all my Verizon & some of my National Grid.

WKP has fallen because the Stockmarket has fallen. Simple. Workspace recently issued a very positive IMS stating.. "We continue to see strong levels of customer demand for our high quality space, with our new business centres letting up quickly, as well as solid growth in pricing levels across the portfolio. Enquiry and letting activity has also picked up significantly in the New Year, ensuring the business is well positioned for continued growth." If you look at other companies in the same sector..(eg..DLN, BLND etc..)despite also issuing positive statements they have also fallen with the general market along with WKP. When the general market recovers so will WKP and other solid growth companies, imo. These things happen from time to time...you just have to sit it out, or even top up if you have confidence in the company. ;o)

Nasty, looks like there is more going on here and something is seriously wrong. Good time to take the risk off the table imo .

Its not been funny for a few weeks. Would there be heavy short selling going on? Seems very strange that a company who are meant to be in good financial state with good assets are dropping so quick. If it is a coerrection in price its a very dramatic 1

I dont think the decline is to do with the report im more surprised that the report didnt have a more positive impact on the price.

Irish, don't think so, or at least hope not!.If you graph WKP against the FTSE350 real estate investment trust it may have got a bit ahead of itself and hopefully when markets settle and realise it's not a bear market it will recover - famous last words!. IMV the decline is not Company or sector related, and definitely not a reaction to recent results (the drop started 29th/30th Dec after hitting its 52 week high).DD

Below 800 is no longer funny... NAV was reported as 792 at November's half-year results so may be a "cooling" of views on capital growth. Only 5.3p/share cash on the balance sheet in November... equity raise time? Weird 'tho; doesn't the market think the economy is going to plough onwards and upwards, or what?

Does anyone know the reason for the sharp decline in the share price, whilst other companies in the sector are all going up? Am I missing something?

Wkp doesnt do big daily price rises. Small and steady which over the last few years can frustrate you on a day where other shares are taking over 5% rises

The quarterly statement looks 'as normal' - a continuation of the steady progress in rental income and occupancy. A gentle rise in share price today but, perhaps too optimistically, I would have expected a bigger rise?

From today's sharecast, tomorrow's interims:In corporate earnings, real estate investment trust Workspace releases its interims. Numis analyst Robert Duncan said the company has had an "active third quarter", with planning consent secured at Hoxton and Stratford, disposals of four industrial properties, and two acquisitions in Wood Green and Surrey Quays."In terms of operations, we allow for 8% rental growth through the second half of 2016; current market conditions remain supportive of this assumption and while there is no direct comp to Workspace, recent rental evidence in Shoreditch from DLN and HLCL suggest upside risk to our numbers."DD
