A blue day... and some biggish trades too. I wonder what's up?

Low cost trackers are better for beginners. 'A man must know his limitations.'

@tim 3 - agreed. There's an awful lot of concentration risk. Can argue it's already come to the Tobaccos, and is likely coming to Big Oil next. Show me an income fund that doesn't hold Shell (well - Woody didn't :) :)

The more I look at equity income type investments the more I think you are better just putting it in low cost index trackers or one of the long established investment trusts like city of London or merchants.

Would be delighted to see Tchengy lose some money. But to be fair - and without wanting to sound like @careful - better he buy down here than the high prices most muppets were buying at, and Woody was later slotting 60% of his shareholding at. I still see 0-20p, not changed my mind throughout. Sorting out the overdraft - perhaps via selling Oxford Nano and/or Autolus - would make WPCT less opaque, tho good luck finding many more winners.

Quite a bit in the IC about Woody/avoiding his mistakes, some of it interesting, not all of it accurate. The table of holdings (with asterisks to say holding now sold - why not delete the line if you can put in an asterisk?) was interesting for the size of falls and tiny number of winners. Think the average fall was -18%.

@ m w - no idea, it's weird, isn't it?! But ... I suspect it was just one trade: two sides of the same one. Maybe this: I own 110k shares and separately my wife owes me some money. So she overpays for the transfer. Silly idea? But so is the idea of still owning 110k shares in WPCT! (Unless you're Woody himself?)

Link still hasn't decided what to do with WIFF - wind it up or appoint a new manager. Https://incomefocus.linkfundsolutions.co.uk/media/lfznzozk/wiff-041219-investor-letter.pdf

Citywire confirms the Eddie Stobart sale at 6p. Woodford's stake which was worth £62m when ESL was suspended is now sold for £5.2m. A more than 90% loss since the suspension. Even more when you consider Woody originally bought in at flotation at 160p. Woodford's mini-me Mark Barnett also holds 6.8% of the company, which will now have to be written down.

NSF now in the 80% club. To think Woodford thought this crowd had the ability to take over PFG.

Sunday paper talk that it's again Temasek who might bail out a Woody co - Oxford Nano this time. Said it before, but I think ON might be a decent co (unlike, for eg, Benevolent AI, which Temasek have also funded, and IH, which no one in their right mind would touch). Temasek gone a bit "Softbank" IMO, but good for WEIF holders if they buy out Woody at the same time (something they didn't do on Benevolent).

Buying into a stock or investment trust such as this is more akin to a gamble than an investment. Now some people are happy to take such risks and some people who buy do not fully understand the risks. Personally I don't generally go for such gambles, but there always seems to be people who do.

Accounts of one Woodford stock (Mafic) have not been signed off by its auditor four years in succession. And Cell Medica has been written down by 70% (one of the unnamed ones in a recent RNS) since being part of the transfer from WEIF to WPCT. Details: https://citywire.co.uk/funds-insider/news/auditor-repeatedly-refuses-to-sign-off-woodford-stocks-accounts/a1299820?ref=citywire-money-latest-news-list Yet more reasons for dismissing as fantasy that daily figure provided by WPCT.
