22/9/2018 10:34 | To save you all waiting, and so that you can breathe again, I have written wiggie's report for him: "Incapable and lacking in scruples as Woodford is, I nevertheless have the highest respect for him and have held many of his products making, thereby, the only money I ever made on the market. It is with a heavy heart that I have to report that Woodford has made the biggest mistake in his life owning Allied Minds. I have no reason for saying this except that I have a feeling in my belly. But rare is any mistake that I make. Oh yes, the ROCE and EPS do not reach the accepted sharepropjet standard. Is this OK winnie?" | oiltakeyouhomeagaincaitlin
22/9/2018 10:23 | We shall all wait with bated breath for the pearls of wisdom dropping like dingleberries before us. Nobody move until then, OK? | solonic
22/9/2018 10:17 | David Stevenson writs in the FT 'Adventurous Investor': ... in August 2014, I suggested that Allied Minds might be worth a closer look. This UK-listed VC invests in spinouts from US government labs — Neil Woodford is a big investor. The shares have crashed in value and the last time I looked they were below 80p. The sell-off was warranted — I’d been too optimistic about prospects and there hadn’t been enough successes in the portfolio. But the bears, I think, have got too far ahead. At this price, I’m of the view that markets are discounting the fund having any success at all, and overlooking its strong cash position. So I have channelled some of my profit-taking back into Allied. I've never, ever, looked at ALM. Has he a point? Will come back with what I think. | jonwig
22/9/2018 09:44 | The Moral Maze. If WPCT took a stake in Shareprophets would you guys retain your WPCT holdings??? | ltcm1
21/9/2018 21:00 | Woody has played a blinder today. Announce the news after the interims separately, to take everyone by surprise. You have to hand it to him, he knows how to generate good PR. Strategy must be to close the discount and raise some more cash. Will he succeed? | topvest
21/9/2018 18:04 | The froth blown away by close on monday, back to the 70's by xmas. | porsche1945
21/9/2018 14:38 | This morning's early erection is fading without reaching a climax. Or was it premature ejaculation of news. How the hell can a fund called 'industrial heat' raise money from investors when it hasn't even a website with some sort of public access? Is it a cold-calling boiler room outfit? | secundum
21/9/2018 13:07 | Woody writes: "Meanwhile, the theory of cold fusion cannot be explained by the known laws of physics". Fingers crossed for the unknown laws of unlisted stock-picking. | lewis121
21/9/2018 13:03 | The amount of seeling into this little pop, everyone just desperate to get clear of this bag os sxxt. News out from Purp next week will see them down to 70p and this back to 70's. Dump it quick. | porsche1945
21/9/2018 12:49 | I see plenty of 'patient' investors can't wait to get rid of these!!! There is clearly a mass of investors desperate to get out at something close to even here. | ltcm1
21/9/2018 12:13 | It's a great day for great posts. Here's one from littleweed, the investigative journalist, on PURP: "littleweed1 21 Sep '18 - 11:50 - 5992 of 5992 You don't seem to understand anything, wiinifrith. Your whole approach to investment is strangely simplistic and naive for someone who claims to be somewhat of an expert. You assume that in WPCT's case everybody bought on the IPO, and here everybody bought at 500. That's preternaturally thick, isn't it? I'm afraid I followed chuckol on his adventure. You should realise that neither he nor I nor plainly many others simply sat on a single trade waiting for things to happen. There are many sophisticated ways, if you are sharp and savvy, to capitalise on other people's arrogance. It's clear that you do not know any of them. Perhaps you'll have 'time' to study these matters carefully in Sing Sing. LOL" | trollwatch
21/9/2018 12:04 | Well, I think there is a bubble on technology start-up's sustained by an endless wall of cheap funding and blind faith in disruption. Be interesting to see what happens when conditions change and the bubble bursts. Valuations in the portfolio look ludicrous. For now the speculation continues and there is a bigger fool waiting to invest at even more crazy valuations. | topvest
21/9/2018 11:55 | My God, in profit at last. | bluetooth
21/9/2018 11:37 | Just think how richer WPCT would be if Neil Woodford had heeded Tommy's advice and unloaded at 500p. Xeros up 20% today on significant new contract btw. Well done to WPCT holders but we aren't out of the wood(ford) yet. | ltcm1
21/9/2018 09:49 | Am I only dreaming? | lewis121
21/9/2018 09:38 | The WPCT statement was simply a lot of hot air. Clearly few made it to the end. "Although, this is positive progress for Industrial Heat and the Trust, it remains early days in the development and commercialisation of these technologies. We look forward to sharing more details with you when we can." I did say only a couple of days ago it is a dangerous game to short here due to upward spikes though. Well done to WPCT holders but the rise looks overdone to me, surely 4p is more like it. | ltcm1
21/9/2018 09:21 | Bought into WPCT near the beginning and have left it in my ISA as a reminder to do more research. It has been hovering at around -20% for so long that being at -12% seems unreal. Not a huge amount so will leave it alone for now in the (probably vain) hope that I get to sell at a reasonable annualised gain. | epo001 |
