Wolfson's audio and power management solution selected for Creative ZiiO tablets

Edinburgh, UK, 20 January 2011 – Wolfson Microelectronics plc has today announced that its innovative WM8352 audio and power management solution has been selected by Creative Technology Ltd, a worldwide leader in digital entertainment products, for its recently announced Android-based Creative ZiiO 7" and Creative ZiiO 10" Pure Wireless Entertainment Tablets.

The WM8352 integrated audio and power management subsystem provides high performance audio, extended battery life and reduced system cost for portable audio and multimedia systems, such as tablet computers, media players and navigation devices. Compared to using separate audio and power management chips, the WM8352 delivers significant savings on the device bill of materials (BOM) and on the board footprint.

The Creative ZiiO touch tablet delivers high quality wireless audio performance and seamless, fuss-free Bluetooth pairing with all compatible Bluetooth speakers and headphones. Through the Pure Android Audio application, a unique, one-touch onscreen icon housing Creative's X-Fi audio technology and Bluetooth connectivity interfaces, users are able to enjoy the purest wireless audio experience with their music, movies, games and downloaded Internet content. The Creative ZiiO 7" and 10" models are available in 8GB and 16GB memory capacities and both deliver up to 25 hours MP3 playback and up to five hours video playback.

just to confirm to any doubters that sales of smart phones and tablets are racing away - just in Korea 2 mil galaxy phones to date



wherever you look samsung galaxay phones and tablets selling well; LG optimus going well, kinect going well, kindle going well, numerous other smaller brands in this market ( Karbonn in India) , Archos70 tablet, creative ZiiO tablet, etc

no wonder guidance could not be given a few months ago - this lot was just on the market, and this is on top of the usual market of high end HiFi, Tv's, digital cameras, sat nav etc etc

google nexus S now launched in US , UK from tomorrow with good reviews so far as it uses the very latest android 2.3 gingerbread
