11/10/2011 16:59 | There's a long way to go between now and the 1st November results. I just can't see what can prevent the share price to continue dropping till then. A huge head and shoulder formation transpiring. | sat69

29/9/2011 11:53 | From Telegraph online site: 11am: Analysts consider what Amazon's Kindle Fire means for tech stocks City analysts were this morning considering what Amazon's launch of its Kindle Fire - a rival to Apple's iPad - means for technology companies. The $199 tablet computer will let users download books, magazines, videos and music and will be available in the US from November 15. Assessing the impact on UK technology hardware stocks, Ian Robertson, a Seymour Pierce analyst, thought the key winners could be Wolfson Microelectronics and Imagination Technologies. He said: Although the chip suppliers have not been disclosed, the fact that it has been produced by the same firm that supplied the RIM Playbook, and it has a similar look to that product, suggests that the key UK tech hardware winners are Wolfson (HOLD) and Imagination Technologies (SELL) (via the TI OMAP applications processor) and, of course, ARM (no recommendation). There is no BlueTooth or GPS in the device. The price point is sufficiently low for this product, $50-$100 below rival 7" products, to actually increase the market size. Set against the general consumer weakness however, we see no justification to adjust our forecasts upwards at this point. | fabzzz
28/9/2011 13:09 | Will be interesting to see how Amazon's tablet launch is received - both in terms of seeing in due course whether WLF secured the slot and whether of course the thing will be expected to sell in any great numbers. | fabzzz

21/9/2011 12:01 | Fab - err no! I believe their next results will be at the end of October, and as the CEO painted a hazy picture in the last set, there still could be more downside to come. If that happens, the end of Oct would be a good time to buy. | sat69

11/8/2011 08:43 | In an effort to cheer everyone up I saw this morning that HTC is buying a large portion of the company that makes "Beats by Dr Dre audio" products. This could be excellent news for Wolfson. In their results in mentioned that they had won a new tier one platform. If this is HTC then happier days may well lay ahead in spite of the world coming to end. | acgent |
