29/10/2001 14:38 | Taxi Interested in your watching brief on CBRY Looks as if it needs to clear resistence at 450p to have much upside potential alternatively a buy on a pullback below 430p for possible 20pts ?? but still feeling bearish ! | moneymagnet
29/10/2001 14:35 | Leelons, I just got my ird password for the free trial today, I will be checking it out later this evening. Does it look like it will give you any advantage for trading? | bensta
29/10/2001 14:33 | riley9 Did you register with IRD ? It took them hours to email me password, but was worth wait. Only problem is cost after trial 40-50 quid p/month. Excellent set of tools all in one interface though, all mkts, all issues. Top notch piece of software if you can afford it. Lee | leelons
29/10/2001 14:33 | ok ok I'm awake. Taken a punt and gone long on the dow and the ftse: the dow futures seem to have been slowly rising so fingers crossed. riley: try this: | nigelsom
29/10/2001 14:25 | edit - problem solved. riley9 | riley9

29/10/2001 13:59 | Don't look now, but we may have some movement at last | nigelsom
29/10/2001 12:08 | May be of interest as i know many of us have positions in some of these. Taken from the Sunday Business, 28/10/01 page 2. The following is a list of companies HSBC sees as most likely to issue a profits warning in the 4th quarter. BT,EMI,MICHAEL PAGE,BAA,EXCEL,BG GROUP,AMERSHAM,GUS,B I will be looking into these over the nxt couple of days as poss shorts. Any thoughts welcome. | the brewer
29/10/2001 11:58 | What chance an early pm rally on the FTSE ? | riley9
29/10/2001 11:37 | BP53 agree good timing on GUS! I'm still long from 493 last week so happy to let it ride for now but watching. Closed NVC for +250 as the ramp seems to be running out of steam. | marting1
29/10/2001 11:34 | tufty gus at around 485p | bp53
29/10/2001 11:18 | Was looking at GUS myself over the weekend with a view to buy today but as you say BP53 will not touch it at the mo. | tuftymatt
29/10/2001 11:16 | luthor- thanks for breakdown on FT NOTHING on index, still waiting for a next move, normally i would have done something. good timing to come out from GUS, NOT TOUCHING IT FOR A WHILE | bp53
29/10/2001 10:46 | Luthor - I'd like to add to your ftse analysis. 5270 previously offered strong support, this has now become line of stiff resistance. A break of this would make 5450-500 the next target as upper ceiling of downtrend in place for more than a year. A break here would be very bullish...At current levels, ftse 5145, it's near bottom of s/t uptrend from Sept. On a weekly chart, there's good support around 4900 but a break below could lead to a retest of Sept lows. In my view, I see this as a strong possibility with a double bottom forming. However I'd like to see another failure to break 5270 first to confirm my view. With the likelihood of companies warning on 4th qtr and offering no clear guidance going ahead, I believe it is too early to call a bull market. | yoda999
29/10/2001 10:44 | i'll be back for Dow time. No doubt dow will tank and then rise towards close unless it breaks the pattern and stays down. | spats
29/10/2001 10:37 | Morning all. Only my sad little BT short open at the mo. Thinking of shorting MRW currently 206/207 in the market & looking to sell Dec around the 208 mark on fins - currently 206. | fat.bloke
29/10/2001 10:30 | leelons - thanks. | riley9
29/10/2001 10:27 | 120 quid! It costs me 150 to fly to vienna. If the missus isn't interested at those prices I'll have to find somebody else who is ;-)) BP, davidr any reason you closed on GUS (apart from the fact it's going down!) Still long but the comment about profit warnings is making me a bit nervous... | marting1
29/10/2001 10:26 | register for 1 week, free. | leelons
29/10/2001 10:22 | re. Thefinancials.com - are their charts live, streaming, and if so, what is the delay ? Anyone know where I can get a FTSE100 chart in similar format to thew DOW chart linked to above ? Thanks, Riley9 | riley9
29/10/2001 10:21 | Marting1 I booked those flights before 9/11 so I think you can get them even cheaper now. A quick look on shows that you can get flights this week for as low as £130 and flights leaving in a couple of weeks start from £126 (on Virgin) | muchos wonga
29/10/2001 10:05 | Cheers Muchos, 180 quid sounds like a bargain! will take a look. | marting1 |
