Yup, managed to get flights to NY for £180 plus tax on and decent hotel rooms for £100 a night (including tax).

BP53, I can break down the scenario of the FTSE100 into 3 phases

Phase 1-The present.
The FTSE is consolidating around 5000-5200. This range represents the 50%-62.8% retracement from its low at 4400.

If it breaks 5200 going up,

Phase 2 - The future (positive).
it is likely to end up around 5600-5800

Phase 3 The future (negative)
If it breaks 5000 going down then maybe it will end up around 4800-4900. After that it could end up forming a double bottom which will suggest from this scenario that by the beginning of 2002 we might see 6000.

I am in favour of Phase 2 as the consolidation band is above a solid trend. But only time will tell.

Regards Lex.

morning all,
thanks Muchos - have a good time in NY, thinking of going over myself before Christmans but my missus isn't too keen. Must be plenty of good deals at the moment? Had FOG on my monitor so long forgot why I put it there in the first place!
Still short ARI, long GUS, RGE and NVC so looking good so far apart from ARI which is hanging on...

mw... only kidding on xen, i'm used to missing the ones that fly.

I bought some KMS last week, they have a big deal in the pipeline, have recently anounced a RNS on another deal, and one this morning after press speculation. They are at a shareholders exhibition and presentation in London on Wednesday, and think it could be on a roll. (short term punt T10, not a clue about longer term)

Morning.

thefinancials.com - anybody having trouble today?

I use their FTSE100 quote/chart but can not access it today. Each time that I select Indicies from the short list I get Commodities instead. Is this happening to you? Any ideas on what I can do about it? (I am registered as a
free subsciber and have had no problems in the month since I joined).

Although the Chart is not as whizz-bang as (say) Bigcharts, it is realtime.
Do you know of another site I can use instead?

Thanks

Ian T

ftse intra-day pivot is 5154.6 with support at 5120 then 5052, and resisitance at 5222 and 5257. Ftse below 100-day MA which coincides with 5270 ceiling. Much above 5200 offers a great shorting opportunity
