03/11/2020 09:37 | Net agreed, I have help Win for at least 8 years, I bought @ 60p have left and come back. The figures straight from 'company check' were last company house data. A fully solvent company does attract a premium. I think Win are a great company and do have the chance of bring a very good return in the short to medium time period. from wsj Return On Average Assets win 9.54%, clipper 5.22%, ocado -11.70% they dont bother with esl | mikedon1946
03/11/2020 09:14 | mikedon1946: Could be: balance sheet for WIN (2020) Current Assets 194.4 TOTAL ASSETS 527.6 TOTAL LIABILITIES 512.9 Thus NAV is £+14.3M From Wall Street Journal accounts (March 2020) balance sheet for CLG (Clipper - 2020) Current Assets 133.3 TOTAL ASSETS 394.2 TOTAL LIABILITIES 365.0 Thus NAV is £+30.8M So going on NAV Clipper is bigger.... However going by SALES and PROFITS WINs is twice the size of clipper. If had to choose - PROFITS beats NAV So WIN should be better than CLG | netcurtains
03/11/2020 09:04 | There are reason for share prices Ocado Net worth £858.4m Clipper NW £5.9m Wincanton NW £-70.9m Eddie Stobart NW £-211.4 | mikedon1946
03/11/2020 08:21 | Its worth pointing out over and over again (my dad used to say to me "If I tell you a 1000 times you're onto it like a shot"... Logistics are the big winners with internet shopping. Its all about getting the goods to the customer - not about the customer picking the goods up. Its LOGISTICS. Results Nov 5th. I think we've all said it about 900 times now so just another 100 before people start to get it. | netcurtains
02/11/2020 17:23 | net, the update will be positive, the company is breaking new ground. Suggest anyone undecided pick up a few of these before the results. A pe of 6 will look ridiculous soon. Dyor of course. | volvo
02/11/2020 13:31 | Nice to see rise 3 days before results. Bodes well - touchwood! | netcurtains
01/11/2020 08:10 | I suspect the EDF deal is linked to a successful conclusion to Brexit negotiations. I think EDF is 83% owned by the French government. Nukes for Fish deal! | netcurtains
31/10/2020 19:29 | Waitrose is going to be heaving as one of the few places left open! I also noticed on the news that big nuclear plant is planned for Suffolk. As Wincanton does the logistics for the other plant Wincanton might well be a shoe-in for the new plant: | netcurtains
31/10/2020 12:10 | UK shut down should not effect Wincanton anything like last time, and much has changed within the company since then. Bumpy ride Monday morning for the markets, throw in a US election and Brexit, interesting. Wincanton's prospects will be outlined on Thursday. | volvo
30/10/2020 18:54 | Have you any views on the numbers? | discodave45
30/10/2020 16:05 | Thanks netThis has held above 2.00 so just needs results to confirm the progress made | s34icknote
30/10/2020 14:55 | I guess with a "stay at home" Christmas and New Year its highly likely that this will be the Christmas for LOGISTICS ..... The big winners (one assumes) will be internet shopping and sending parcels to family ... Royal Mail group already has PE ratio of 14 and market cap of £2.2b Clipper already has PE of 27 and a market cap of £440m Win has PE of 6.8 and market cap of 264.... One suggests if a logistics firm is to head north it might well be win. | netcurtains
30/10/2020 12:34 | s34: Nov 5th. If you look at RSI its still very low so that is a good sign - price going up and low RSI (eg its no where near over bought, if anything its still over sold)..... | netcurtains
30/10/2020 12:33 | Results soon ?Nov 7 ? | s34icknote
30/10/2020 12:08 | Looking forward to next Thursday and the re-invention of Wincanton into a Clipper Logistics style on one hand, and a super modern logistic company on the other. Understand they will keep repeating the similarities with the likes of Clipper to try and achieve a similar rating. Lets see. | volvo
30/10/2020 11:16 | All Stobart figures look good to them, but they start from a lower base (coming back from the dead), Wincanton are in a totally different position. | mikedon1946
30/10/2020 10:13 | MikeThanks.......Soz I thought you meant macro / sector data figures. | discodave45
30/10/2020 10:07 | Stobart's Interims are on the 4th of Nov. They might give us a clue as to how the market is reacting to Transport sector results. | netcurtains

29/10/2020 14:39 | RSI low (its oversold) and price very low (eg pe ratio is small). Results 5 working days away.... (buying pre-results just 4 working days left) "if" those 'in the know' expect reasonable to good results price should rise over the next few days as those 'in the know' people are running out of pre-results runway to buy the shares (just 4 working days). | netcurtains
29/10/2020 11:49 | Sadly a lot of companies are withholding dividends even when they are affordable with the lockdowns in France and other EU countries looking likely to land in the UK soon... that would lift the share price, but we will likely have to wait for a proper rerating. | edmundshaw
29/10/2020 09:01 | How will WIN fair in the coming shut down...a question I put forward to the company. Currently uneffected in England, even in Teir 3 areas, including 2 man deliveries etc. Wales/Scotland/Irela Company cannot imagine a full uk style lockdown again, but who knows. But with experience now gained from this years lockdown, even during this senario, the impact upon the company will be much more minor.dyor. | volvo
28/10/2020 23:05 | Can you expand on those October highlights please, retail was down from what I've read.Their H1 won't include October. | discodave45
28/10/2020 21:18 | Octobers highlights issued today all looks good cannot wait to see the results and where this co is going. up up up | mikedon1946 |
