28/10/2020 13:47 | He who dares Rodney, so have added. | celeritas
28/10/2020 10:53 | mikedon1946Re post 1404 £2.50 to £3I agree £2.50 but even that would need a re-rating IMO with its PE increased from its longer term average of 7.5 to 10. Covid benefits aside it may also depend on positive signs of reduced cash outflows next FY now their pension deficit payments are fixed longer term.Would advise anybody to DYOR, if netcurtains is here then it will be clueless ramps as is his norm.Any holders with views on H1 numbers?.......inter | discodave45
28/10/2020 09:04 | Volvo, I think that it is the more general side of supplying materials to construction that is up, you can add these other contracts to that. I would expect over the next week the price to increase in as analysts review and recommend buying on expectation on a good announcement. Will be very disappointed if we do not see a sell price of 225 and this will be too cheap. | mikedon1946
28/10/2020 08:19 | Yes Mike, Hinkley Point is massive and will be for at least another 3 years. It was the largest building site in europe, employing 26k people daily. WIN must be printing money here. In October 2020, Wincanton agreed a lease on a 250,000 sq.ft warehouse near Bristol to support its contract with EDF Energy’s Hinkley Point C nuclear power station project. Wincanton is the official ‘tier 1’ warehouse and transport service partner for the megaproject. Throughout the construction process, it is providing storage, handling, asset tracking and transportation for incoming materials from a global supplier base. | volvo
27/10/2020 22:28 | Yes While there is a lot of chat on here about on-line shopping etc, I understand that even the construction side has come back stronger that before the virus, as others have pointed out they have to be doing well, based on trading statements, new and extended contracts, and the list of vacancies. These share are cheap and will be at 2.50 to £3.00. If they are doing as well as we think (know), then dividends will be back, hopefully wit a special dividend to make up for the missing interim. The will give us something to celebrate on the 5th | mikedon1946
27/10/2020 16:51 | Results day will just show, poor start with Covid, bounce back, now strong trading going forward....hopefully that will be enough for the markets to start a well overdue rerating, because 2021 will be an excellent year for Wincanton. | volvo
27/10/2020 15:46 | BUY for the future. SELL to take profits. HOLD for results. Results Nov 5th (next Thursday) - Fireworks Day.... | netcurtains
27/10/2020 10:21 | If people are looking for a defensive stock then WINS ticks all the boxes. Low PE but profits rising in a buoyant sector. | netcurtains
27/10/2020 10:20 | whoops sorry - wrong thread. re-posted here: | netcurtains
26/10/2020 16:40 | Is that a 216 finish? The price seemed to go all over the place at the end of day.. | netcurtains
26/10/2020 08:29 | Not that I'm aware of netcurtains, but Christmas does bring lots of work to the distribution industry, so WIN will likely be hiring out any surplus traction to anyone who wants it. Right now large numbers of old trailers that sit in fields all year, will getting serviced and inspected to be used over a busy 6 week period. | lefrene
26/10/2020 08:26 | What I do know is the Wincanton depot in Wigan for Kraft Heinz is massively on the ramp up as the stay at home/cook and eat in. This will get a mention next week, warehouse super busy, mass new recruits being sort. Great news. There will be winners and losers, such is any recession. Imo Wincanton are ideally placed. | volvo
26/10/2020 07:56 | BBC this morning Royal Mail taking on record numbers this Christmas - I guess parcels is going to be mega huge this Christmas Does WINs do any parcel delivery to peoples doors? This service is going to be massive this Christmas. If people cant meet there are going to be ONE HECK OF A LOT OF PARCELS GOING ROUND THE NATION THIS CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!! | netcurtains
25/10/2020 08:19 | Interesting story (vaguely connected to transport): | netcurtains
23/10/2020 20:27 | At least the volume was up.....lets see, but I see action here. Edit, most of yesterdays volume was 'off book' trades. Seller still active.... 'Off-book transactions are made directly between two parties, outside or 'off' of the order books'. | volvo
23/10/2020 15:57 | Nice move up - 10,000 shares bought at 215p just now. | rivaldo
23/10/2020 12:48 | As a "second liner" WINs has not yet been involved in the general stock market rise today. I suspect this will soon change. | netcurtains
22/10/2020 17:25 | It would be nice to break 240. That would be a good step in the right direction. | netcurtains
22/10/2020 17:11 | rivaldo, I suspect the company is having someone putting the rule over them.....simply put the pandemic will not last forever....and the largest 3rd party logistic company, which is flat out busy, is worth much more than a pe of 6.....More than Clipper any day, dyor Stand by that...300p by December, take that to the printers | volvo
22/10/2020 16:19 | H1 results will be on 5th November, so not long to go. Hopefully today's rise is just the start of a run-up to those results. | rivaldo
22/10/2020 11:41 | Think I'll wait until interims now.SMA50 at 201 is key IMO. | discodave45
21/10/2020 17:23 | If people are still going to buy food from Asda, Morrisons, M and S, Sainburys and Waitrose...maybe shop on line with Wickes Screwfix or B and Q, maybe a new settee, or just delivering bricks and stuff for the house building or large government backed projects, ie Hinkley Nuclear plant 4th largest UK industrial building site 2020, then you need logistics. The fact is...as i've trying to say this company is cheap on any reasonable scale. It has value, great contracts, warehouses and staff. 300p by December, take that to the printers. Edit....check out Kingfisher, approaching a 3 year high, its two main brands Screwfix and B and Q are flying, and WIN delivers and warehouses them both....just saying. | volvo
21/10/2020 15:55 | Because there's no stock about if a decent buyer did come in, this is just tier 3 drift on low volume, which as Volvo says is more beneficial to Win. People are getting used to home delivery now, it won't change. | celeritas
21/10/2020 14:32 | What I find really annoying is as soon as a few buyers creep in they bung the price up STRAIGHT AWAY - why dont they let a few more people buy first? Its like they dont want anyone to buy the share! | netcurtains
21/10/2020 10:56 | Buyers strike at present all round Covid and Presidential uncertainty. Powder dry job at present | basem1 |
