14/8/2020 09:18 | ...as you asked s34. Wincanton v Clipper....firstly similar logistic companies, Clipper probably more focused on retail delivers, but Wincanton pushing on in this direction, and some great new contracts From March lows Wincanton is up 30p or 20pc....Clipper on the other hand has risen 234p or 188pc...BIG DIFFERENCE. Win turnover £1.2 billion, profit before tax £44m, debt £10m, Market cap £240m. Clipper turnover £460m, profit before tax £17m, debt £42m, market cap £376m. One company is either massively overvalued or one company is massively undervalued. Wincanton is 200pc bigger and well run with directors buying shares and 'transformational' new contracts, hardly any news from Clipper since March. | volvo
14/8/2020 08:03 | Another two 250 k trades from yesterday ?Sicknote | s34icknote
14/8/2020 06:29 | What's the difference between win and clg ?Sicknote | s34icknote
13/8/2020 17:30 | VOLVO: re Internet shopping. Ocado one of the few FTSE 100 risers today so perhaps you're right. | netcurtains
13/8/2020 17:24 | yes Sphere, imo WIN will come out a winner. People will stay home and internet shop. I'd say 300p soon when the market can see logistics is how we get the internet shopping to folks homes. | volvo
13/8/2020 16:41 | Price is edging up with a close at 195. 50k unfilled on the bid at 194 in auction and some more mopping up of sellers at these levels as per the large blocks highlighted here earlier by s34icknote. Must be close to exhausting the sellers at these levels. When this pops, should move rapidly on little volume as per previous moves. | sphere25
13/8/2020 14:29 | Appears like an inverse head and shoulders | matt
13/8/2020 12:04 | Good to see the bid price up to 191.5p - steadily making progress now. | rivaldo
13/8/2020 10:52 | I've heard people say the way to make money in a gold rush is to sell shovels. It strikes me that Wincanton is in a similar support role with logistics and the ongoing move to online retail. | matt
13/8/2020 10:22 | Large blocks again Sicknote | s34icknote
13/8/2020 09:06 | Ok hands up who sold out there 1 share holding ???Trashing the price lol !Sicknote | s34icknote
12/8/2020 07:59 | I'm thinking positive thoughts NORTH NORTH NORTH NORTH (and some cool weather please) | netcurtains
11/8/2020 22:48 | My guess is 2/10/20 Half Year Trading update or more likely Fireworks on 5/11/20 with the Half year preliminary announcement If things are going real well we may see a special dividend to make up for the missed final dividend. So Sicknote you could be right with dividends | mikedon1946
11/8/2020 22:26 | Dividend s by end of year ?Sicknote | s34icknote
11/8/2020 11:46 | Share will not move much until the hint of a dividend then it will fly. For me patience. | petewy
11/8/2020 10:18 | Is our seller still here ? | s34icknote
11/8/2020 09:55 | FTSE 100 stocks really hot at present. Other stocks do well after FTSE 100 cools. We cant really compete with EasyJet going up 22% in past week... We could say we supply EasyJet fuel and food in Wincanton trucks (if we do)... Does anyone know - do we supply EasyJet? | netcurtains
11/8/2020 09:53 | I understand the directors are as dismayed with the share price as us investors after the volley of excellent new contracts. What is needed is a general update in September. | volvo
10/8/2020 15:05 | And esl we'll know for financial troubles . Need to trust your supplier won't go bust !! | s34icknote
10/8/2020 14:43 | Interesting points, Mike! Thanks for sharing them. | edmundshaw
10/8/2020 12:26 | molatovkid On line shopping has Ebay and Amazon And others Not Wincanton's market they supply big customers with big operations you don't see the wagons as they are in the customers colour I passed Muller one the other day and realised it was really Wincaton, one trouble with Wincanton is the company is invisible on the roads 3,500 vehicles against ESL 2,700 and seen constantly 19,000 employees against ESL 6,600 Wincanton strong financially against ESL | mikedon1946
10/8/2020 12:02 | Trades at 181p could be our seller finished Topped up again Sicknote | s34icknote
10/8/2020 11:43 | At last. Been buying steadily for the last couple of months in the 180’s. There’s been a steady stream of positive news with virtually no share price response. Let’s hope this is the beginning of the re-rate. Surely it’s worth more than a p/e of 5!! Making up the 37% it’s dropped in the last 6 months would be a good start. GLA | techno20
10/8/2020 11:37 | The situation here is WIN is back to pre Covid levels and pushing on as seen by multiple new contracts...yet the share price is close to the March lows. Rerate to 250p without touching the sides imo. Guess if trading is going so much better, the company should be letting the market know? Edit I remember the TS is due October 2nd, or before, which will make interesting reading. | volvo |
