Caesars is so strategically important to WH, Apollo or an interloper were never going to disrupt the 272 deal.

Anyone seen or heard anything about major shareholders (apart from the Done Bros.) coming out in support of the offer ?

no it's a "good" deal based on the recent share price, but its not "great" for long term holders. This is an opportunistic bid that will probably succeed and they have sold out before the potential can be realised.

Get it done.
Stop messing around.
It’s a great deal, isn’t it?

Sunday Telegraph reporting that WMH biggest shareholder Fred Done is backing the takeover. Juicy carrot being the sell off of the UK business ...

Smartie, I've already told you I think closer to £4 per share is the right price. The US operation is worth £2.72 by itself plus the European side. I am more than happy if this gets voted down and the price drops back below £2. I will pick up more as, IMO, in the next 2 to 3 years this will go over £4 per share in the normal market.

They are only currently operating in 14 out of 50 states in the US, massive market, massive potential. Caesars are getting this on the cheap.

What I don't understand is why aren't Caesars buying shares in the market. The price is below their offer price so every share they buy saves them money and more importantly gets them another guaranteed vote. Circa 28 million shares were traded in the last 3 days below the offer price, 2.6% of the company, they should be building themselves a stake at a reduced price.

Still a possibility of a rival coming in .. if not it may get voted down and we end up with a higher offer from Caesars

Pointed remark from Flutter boss that they did NOT see any negativity from sports events with no attendees that the Hills boss ludicrously claimed as a negative (to put off rival bidders') in their Q update. Shameful this whole in house deal

Anyone still being greedy on here?
272p is more than a fair price imho.
Gambling on a bidding war. FFS.

I'm not greedy, I simply think my shares are worth more than £2.72. Yes I've made a profit, and a good one at that, but I still think there is more money to make in the US market. The shares would be worth twice this price in 2 years time, once the product is rolled out across the whole of the US not just the current 14 states they are operating in. Therefore I have voted no.

The price has dipped below £2.72 so lets see if Caesars start hoovering up shares.

Presumably capital gains tax is applicable if £2.72 goes through and holder accepts offer ? which seems unfair as holder may have held or sold in tranches to avoid CGT if it weren't for a takeover ... ?

Apollo has until 5pm on the 12th Nov to decline or put a bid in. If Apollo want interested why haven't they just said no. Why wait until 12th Nov to say no at the last minute. They don't achieve anything waiting.

That is wrong. Everyone who has bought shares about 272p are very confident a much higher counter bid by Apollo or another institution will occur. Apollo have until a date later in november to confirm they are making a counter offer or walking away

Everyone who has purchased shares above £2.72 since the offer must be voting no, else why would they have purchased if they are prepared to accept £2.72?

For what it's worth I've voted no and we will see the outcome. If there is a significant drop, below £2, I will be buying more, but then so might Caesars. Nothing stopping them building a significant stake in the market if there is a no vote.
