30/6/2020 10:47 | Numis: Whitbread could win from Travelodge demise Premier Inn owner Whitbread (WTB) has an opportunity to grab market share after rival Travelodge had a ‘company voluntary arrangement’ (CVA) approved, says Numis. Analyst Tim Barrett retained his ‘buy’ recommendation and target price of £33.40 on the shares, which rose 1.6% to £22.30 yesterday. ‘We see a material positive if Whitbread’s closest competitor is broken up,’ he said. ‘Following the recently approved CVA all Travelodge properties will continue to trade. However, all but 75 of the 588 in the estate now contain a landlord-only break clause allowing the property to be re-let to another operator with no break fee.’ Barrett noted the biggest landlord, Secure Income Reit, had ‘already indicated that it will actively consider other partners’. | philanderer | |
