We looked at a few room prices down on the South Coast last night for a few short breaks in September and October as an alternative to the Canaries. Wow, couldn't believe how much they were asking for a room!

All sounds Good Phil. A friend of mine is currently staying in the premier Inn, Clarence Parade, Southsea & is very happy there. Great location on the beach & would recommend.

Market report

"The resilience of travel stocks is also probably down to this same optimism over reopening, with a UK death rate that fell below 100 for the first time since October at the weekend, with a feeling that if the data allows, and it's a big IF, that the re-opening program might get accelerated," CMC Markets analyst Michael Hewson said. "This optimism is not only helping the likes of Intercontinental Hotels, and Premier Inn owner Whitbread, but airlines are also having a good day as well, along with Rolls Royce shares which have edged to the top of the FTSE 100."

Better still build within the Freeports.

Areas given Freeport status will benefit from a wide package of tax reliefs, simplified customs procedures, streamlined planning processes to boost redevelopment, and government support to promote regeneration and innovation.

Good to see some familiar faces here, I've every confidence in Whitbread as a strong recovery play.
That 130% of future investment off the tax bill measure announced in the budget today could literally pay dividends here :)

That's what I was anticipating earlier :)
...and probably the Chairman earlier still when buying shares for £100k on Friday?

Stayed in a Premier Inn in July and felt quite safe, consistent standards together with affordable prices should appeal to many as lockdown measures are eased imho.

This has a feeling of deja vu about it (see the header title!)

I have done the same as I did previously and followed the Chairman's example, albeit a different Chairman and at a slightly higher price!

A summer of staycations is on its way...Vaccinated oldies can book their coach trips, families can go on holiday, but most will stick to the Uk this summer (leaving the Spanish trip for next year).I know we'll be doing a trip to London and one to the beach... probably not Premier Inn, but some will

The reason that Premier is not included is that they are using more upmarket hotels so that personal laundry is available:
