Year 7 – 11 (cost for 2017/18)

Cost of studying in Years 7, 8 and 9 (A full KS3 curriculum) £2,700 p.a
Additional Key Stage 3 Subjects £200 subject p.a

Cost of studying in Years 10 and 11 inclusive of 8 core iGCSEs £3,000 p.a
Cost of studying one iGCSE in 1 year £1,500 subject p.a (re-takes probably)

Additional iGCSE Subjects £400 subject p.a

AS and A Levels (Minimum of 3 A levels)

Cost of studying per subject £1,350 p.a

These costs are bellow traditional schooling. In the case of AS/A2's, each child will spend £8100 if only completing 3 AS/A2's in two years, however, many children will take 4 AS's and then drop one when completing their A2's. Furthermore, these costs might not reflect the awarding body costs which will be around £130-£150 per subject.

The other thing I would like to know is what is the split between A level. KS3 and IGCSE? However, IMO at least 50% of students are completing KS3 and the other 40% completing IGCSE/A level and 10% re-takes.

Based on 1000 students, I would assume that the KS3 will generate around £1350000 in 2017/18. IGSE's will generate £900k and AS/A2, £800k. Re-takes could be worth £50-100k per annum.

Totals excluding Awarding Body fees is £3.1m for 2017/18 based on 1000 students

Am watching and waiting, this has risen very fast slightly too quickly IMO unless their next numbers justify it, but not sure they will....long term potential is there, but I will hold on to top up below 10p and if not move on to next one! Made some money already on the rise and out for time being as looks toppy...but GLA those more patient than me!

Hi Woody, yes thanks, hope you enjoyed your holiday. This has been a great investment for you. Yes I've looked a lot at your numbers and should have bought in. Kept watching it moving up ofcourse. I had thought 10/11p was up to speed for now but like you say there's huge potential if they can increase numbers. Watching for a pullback or confirmation of traction in uptake.

Woody: Understandable though, it did rise 250% (4.8p when I bought). I'm sure it will fall back and the attention will too.

So "flaky" posters (lol) , if you want to move on, how about FLYBE?

I'm hoping for FLYBE to rise 300% by year end...

From Wikipedia:
"
In the UK, Flybe's largest base is at Birmingham Airport[36] and it has other large bases at Belfast, Manchester and Southampton airports
"
Lets look at three of these airports:
From Birmingham Airport (FlyBe Hub):
"
over the past year their long-haul traffic increased by 26%, with particular growth to the Middle East (+34.1%), North America (+32.6%). That was, of course, what they paid all that money for the runway extension for
"

From Manchester Airport (FlyBe Hub):

Said to be the biggest single construction project ever to take place in Greater Manchester, the 10-year scheme will more than double the size of Terminal Two and link it to an improved Terminal Three.

From Southamton Airport (FlyBe Hub):
Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has started operating its expanded 2016/17 Winter schedule from Southampton Airport which features two new routes to Lyon and Munich, offering a total choice of up to 270 flights across 23 routes.
"
Then on top of this there are the new flights from LONDON HEAHROW:

Then on top of this there are the huge numbers of torurists coming to the UK since Brexit (Chinese in Birmingham for example)

Then there is the glut in oil which is causing the oil price not to rise as much as people had thought (thus saying airlines money).

Add all this lot together and it should be in FlyBe's favour.

net the thread has got very loud and it needs to calm a bit so a little pullback may well be in order to shed some of the froth and flaky investors.

Hi Woody: Glad you are still interested....I'm here for the long hall... Shame about battlebus, I think he missed the last rise, but as you say it might drop back a bit to let others on board. And why not? I'm happy.

battlebus - apologies i've been on holiday last week skiing just catching up with all my email etc. so no i haven't taken any profits yet.

I'm procrastinating a little as i think it's now looking expensive but if i take some profit will i be able to get back in if the price falls. I noticed modform has top sliced, he's a shrewd well respected investor so i'm mindful of his strategy of leaving some in for free. i'm up around 140% so i could follow his lead this week we'll have to see.

I assume you've read my earlier posts on financial numbers etc, (62,63 and 81 these may be useful to have reconstructed and placed in the header) i think it could be a very lucrative investment so mentally i'm inclined to accumulate rather than sell and try and get back in. As i noted uncertainty (greed) prevails.

hope you're well btw

woody

post note: If they can get close to break even at EBITDA level this year and have a positive outlook statement for the following year then it has a lot further to go. This kind of business is very scalable. By my reckoning 1000 students is break even, and they should be close to that this year. 2000 students looks over 2p eps. I figure that's easily possible in the next few years

...its possible the big rise has not yet begun.
I was looking at other penny shares like REDt Energy. They often are developing "prototypes" for new renewable energy storage or batteries.
They have market caps around about £50 million or about FOUR TIMES the current WEY Education price.

But if these glamorous energy companies became successful (a few years down the road) the profits they will generate will only be about the same as WEY ( if WEY also continued to grow at its current rate for a few years longer ).

Now WEY currently has a market cap of about £12M.... That is still cheap compared to other firms in this sort of position (it they were a glamorous "high tech" rather than a "Inter High" school).

The story potentially is just beginning.... potentially WEY is the BOOHOO or ASOS of education (which has a bigger total budget than retail ...) BooHoo and ASOS are now worth a Billion and I think they just have ONE giant warehouse each (or near enough) - that warehouse equates to one large school or university....

Gingercat1 154. I was interested in your posting and had a "quick" look at the RNS dated 15/12/15. It appears that Miton had 18,787,080 shares being 19.9% of 95,771,241. However the company has issued more shares and the total now stands at 99,476,568 so that would account for the drop in the percentage from 19.9% to 18.89%. Why the total they now hold is 18,787,500 ie 420 shares more than in Dec 15 is a bit of a mystery. I cannot imagine Miton going to buy 420 shares at 10p ?? . So they have increased their holding by the almighty figure of 420 shares.

two more reasons to invest in WEY:
1) Children carrying knifes to school is increasing all the time (DOUBLED says Evening Standard)

2) WEYs growth will not be stopped by lack of teachers: Apparently DoE might get rid of 6 teachers every second

I was looking to purchase these shares this a.m but price rose too quickly before making a decision. Done a little more research and found Miton were actually holding 19.99% of WEY shares on the 15/12/15. Yesterday's RNS indicates a slight drop to 18.89%.

miti 1000: well done. I'm holding on for at least TWO sets of RESULTS...

Traditionally, people tend to sell their original stake and let the profits run on to see where they go eventually.

I'm doing neither, I seriously believe in the business model.... Big time!
