04/4/2017 18:36 | Deary me,netcurtains, you have been going so way over the top for so long comparing the merits of online education to private education . Who, in their right mind , would opt for online education instead of private education. Private schools are not just about education. They offer much more rounded experience. There is a market for wey , but its more a supplemental tool to what normal schools provide. Also great for foreign students who want to get educated in English or problem kids who get excluded. Looking for more of a dip before I buy again fwiw. | miti 1000
03/4/2017 21:21 | hxxp://www.oxfordhom Competition ? Seen today Mon 3/4/17 in Daily Mail at the side of a sports article. Its the first one I have seen. Has anybody else seen any adverts for home education. Not read the advert but I assume it is competition. | 666james
30/3/2017 21:28 | I'm off for a few days but if you look at the MARKET CAPITALISATION of a USA firm in this business you might get a flavour of where I think we could be heading (over many years)... Ticker LRN - $750 million dollars market cap. PE ratio of about 78! Its last RNS news item (hardly huge): There are some insane valuations out there - currently ASOS (first mover) is worth £5 billion (clothes retailer), and BOOHOO £1 billion (both with pe ratios in treble figures) The internet sector for clothes/ retail could be dwarfed by the internet sector for education - Invest for the Future! dreams are made of this! | netcurtains
30/3/2017 12:31 | Yes, netcurtains. It will be vital that InterHigh maintains certain standards and does not suffer from any bad publicity. You know how things get when a new system or product starts to get noticed by the newspapers and political interests start to intervene. Wey would have to tread a fine political line. In the meantime, they should continue to progress below the radar and gain critical mass. Before any self-interests intervene, it will hopefully be an unstoppable bandwagon (provided reputation is intact). | bones
30/3/2017 09:42 | Fees for new SELECTIVE school (eg need to pass test to get a place) will be £6,000. That is double InterHigh but a tiny fraction of what it costs for a normal private school. For average private school the fees are about £16,000 pa.... So this new WEY education school will be only be 1/3rd the price but will likely produce the same results or better. Here's a typical example of the competition (WEY is way better) : Average £16K pa private school has about 900 pupils. That equates to £5.5M revenue for WEY (when they reach that figure) . Not sure of the profit but one assumes that could generate £2M+ profit (20 teachers wages about £700K plus other costs). Then we have the expanding InterHigh - no idea what sort of money that could generate but could be a lot (especially via ex-pats etc)... Anyway will be interesting times, reading what the results have to say about the future couple of years! | netcurtains
30/3/2017 07:52 | gr1982: I dont go back to when I originally bought, I bought yesterday... And I will buy again at higher prices as time goes on. I have not seen how much they are charging but I noted that it was/is based in Northern England (Where all the press currently is printing that our state education system is failing us.. I think the results will, hopefully fill us in with further details on this new school, but ELEVEN job adverts for teachers is a BIG DEAL.... (£300,000 in wages alone). This is BIG news. | netcurtains
30/3/2017 07:44 | Hi netcurtains and the rest :-) I actually bought in around 4.2p so sitting on a tidy sum so far but it was thanks to @mginvestor who flagged it up with his purchase. Need to get round to updating the header with the latest info but will def so do after the results. Plenty of potential here esp with the new launch of infinityeducation - have you seen how much they're charging?! do the math! | gr1982
30/3/2017 07:39 | Hi Net not had chance to look yet but will later on ...saw your links yesterday. All good for Wey | 666james
30/3/2017 07:32 | bump... come on - the above is quite a big item... Anyone with any thoughts on this new school? | netcurtains
30/3/2017 05:51 | Infinity Education - We will probably get an update about this in the results. Wey Education are launching Infinity Education as an on-line selective school catering for bright students looking to... Its going to be quite big as they are currently looking for ELEVEN TEACHERS... News from 28th March Web site: | netcurtains
29/3/2017 13:00 | From link: "private education increasing" or more interestingly ... | netcurtains
29/3/2017 08:56 | I bought a few more. I will be accumulating from time to time. Whatever the price. | netcurtains
28/3/2017 18:44 | From the link: Last year, the e-learning market was worth an enormous $166.5 billion (2015). It’s been estimated that this will grow to $255 billion by 2017. Its growing financial value is matched only by the swelling numbers of students choosing to follow an online course. further links on MOOC Now factor in how many UK online schools can you invest in? I'd say this is it! | netcurtains
28/3/2017 16:28 | Can we have a, b and c... | glennrcharles
28/3/2017 13:21 | could be going up because: a) shortage of stock OR b) big buy in the wings OR c) market expects good results (about 2 weeks time) ps - the concept is pretty much brexit proof (eg you do not have to live in the UK to benefit from internet schooling) | netcurtains
28/3/2017 11:30 | Price action today is WEY too good.. | glennrcharles
27/3/2017 19:05 | 666James: a) I know no more than you b) There probably is a relationship to the number of twitter followers to actual real numbers (you can get the numbers of twitter followers from your local comprehensive and then guesstimate the numbers interhigh have (it would be a guess as not like for like). c) WEY dont just own Interhigh, they might have other pans in the fire.... We just have to wait and see. Interesting times - I am a believer, so you probably want to speak to more people who hate the idea to get a balanced view. For example this looks interesting: | netcurtains
27/3/2017 18:15 | Net.... they certainly praise Wey but they seem to be existing students when, imo, they need more new students to bolster the figures and therefore the share price. There were plenty of links to look at but all appeared to be students that were doing great and enjoying the experience of the Wey Education system. We will see next month when they report. Thanks again for the link. | 666james
27/3/2017 15:10 | Netcurtains, thanks for the link. I have had a quick look and will study it later. | 666james
27/3/2017 12:38 | 666james: no it should not over advertise - it probably gets more enquiries than it can cope with anyway. look at this twitter from 22nd march (just a few days a go) That is from "The horses mouth" | netcurtains |
