30/11/2017 16:35 | "expat child" site now have a sponsored link to Inter High (well worth reading) | netcurtains
29/11/2017 18:46 | multibagger: lol. Here is the link to the proposed law. The bill, I guess, aims to get rid of all the riff raff from the home school movement and if it becomes law I can only see it as a good thing for WEY education | netcurtains
29/11/2017 18:30 | Netcurtains, Thank goodness we don't have on board - Damn Glynis Breakwell of Bath University to pay :) | multibagger
29/11/2017 17:24 | df: On the other hand is the above legislation is passed it will probably be good news for WEY. It will get rid of many of the cowboy outfits and what will be left will be WEY Education and a few others. Remember WEY has Dame Erica Pienaar ("Knighted" for services to Education) on its board. | netcurtains
28/11/2017 11:21 | Daniedanrichardson: Your "so what" comment is wrong. Home School does not normally achieve anything near as good as results via WEY. That is the critical difference! InterHigh is a REAL school, with REAL TEACHERS, but over the internet. failing Homeschool is a kid left at a computer screen. You clearly have not understood your own investment. Home school is not what you think it is... There are lots of cowboys out there but only one REAL SCHOOL with REAL TEACHERS - that is INTERHIGH (and its associated companies) | netcurtains
28/11/2017 06:57 | kazoom: The article states that home schooling children with special needs is growing (The picture shows it growing especially highly in parts of Wales). WEY is based in Wales and some of its pupils do have special needs. I agree its not pleasant to require special needs but putting that to one side, if the state sector cannot help what is wrong with the private sector taking over? And we also know that WEYs GCSE and A level results are higher than the state sector average by a long way. ps - another 'famous' ex-interhigh pupil has made this video: | netcurtains
27/11/2017 23:57 | Did anyone actually bother to read and digest the BBC article on "home schooling"? Would be interested to hear why it is viewed as a positive for WEY. | kazoom
27/11/2017 22:15 | Also: do WEY use only British language teachers? I say this because MAYBE WEY could use the Englishness of their teachers as a plus for marketing purposes? Don't want to be linguistically non pc but...biz is biz and maybe the good old British accent has a greater appeal. Just a thought | the patient investor
27/11/2017 22:12 | Being Italian and a life student of your language I would never consider studying the American English. I find the "Queen's" English much much more elegant. But my preference is irrelevant: the question is: what do foreigners prefer? I don't really know. If you are a Russian or Chinese milionaire wd you send your kids to Cambridge or Harvard? I would not hesitate. Cambridge (or Oxford) | the patient investor
27/11/2017 18:17 | good spot 666James In tonights Evening Standard USA based English language school teaching English to Chinese people sold for £250 million (I think owned by Pearson). WEY needs to get up there on all fronts. I can easily see this firm, with all its different fires in different ovens, getting a market cap of £250m - and much higher. But obviously not over night. (currently WEYs market cap is only £43M so would be a five or six bagger to get to £250m - given time) Cheers Net | netcurtains
27/11/2017 18:17 | double post - sorry | netcurtains
24/11/2017 22:08 | bones: up 9% thought - perhaps I've missed the boat. Not sure 55p is a reasonable target. | netcurtains
24/11/2017 18:46 | Yes, Net, Miton is highly respected. I believe they have a decent slug of VRS too :) As for WEY, I see someone grabbed 150k of them at above the ask today. I remain convinced they are in demand. I look forward to WEY completing on their acquisition! | bones
24/11/2017 18:19 | Miton - the major holder of WEY Shares was in the last page of the business section of tonights Evening Standard. Said it was doing very very well and brokers given it a target price of 55p (currently 39p) | netcurtains
23/11/2017 11:27 | Most of the trades today at 35.4 are likely purchases. One is my own! | bones
22/11/2017 23:42 | NETCURTAINS i knew you were a developer, i mentioned udemy for you to teach there, not to be a student percival was an example of huge success. u cd do the same! | the patient investor
22/11/2017 22:23 | At long last Lord Sugar is on the same wave length as WEY Education... Bruce's Doggie Day Care have a GIANT poster right across Wimbledon Station ( I kid you not). (Watch the video) I know dog day care is not the same as children's education but nevertheless the market for both goes in and out of posh railway stations. I'll warrant tonight's episode of the Apprentice was born as the producer/director went to their home via Wimbledon station and looked up at the giant dog poster. | netcurtains
22/11/2017 18:28 | the patient investor (I am developer in java script - its a total different language - i was thinking about teaching it not learning it - but thanks that is a good site - might see if he wants a freelance - but I prefer to be on my own - I m not a team player (advfn does not like you writing java script the way it should be written as ONE word with capital S - hence the confusion)). | netcurtains
22/11/2017 18:21 | Thanks guys, i think you are absolutely right Thanks netcurtains Off topic Have u tried udemy.com for your java course? Rob Percival, a very down to earth bloke ex teacher from cambridge is probably now a millionaire, really nice chap. His online courses are top, he has a very high rating and a huge no of students | the patient investor
22/11/2017 18:21 | bones: I think WEYs post Christmas marketing campaign could actually be timed just right to tie in with many small investors making new year investment decisions. Its quite possible WEY could pick up more investors as well as more pupils via marketing the company on a "BIG" scale at Waterloo (the gateway to the City of London). Brokers say 70p by 2020 so its possible we could hit high 40s by January (or earlier if WEYs investment looks good). Anyone with any news on that please post... | netcurtains
22/11/2017 16:54 | TPI, I think Miton's percentage is adjusting for the raise rather than they have sold any. But I will check back later on that. | bones
22/11/2017 16:50 | Patientl think The Miton holding statement is a repeat of what was in the bottom of their holdings from yesterday. The shares in the trust have stayed the same but now diluted because of placing.I don't know why they need to tell us twice?Happy to be corrected . Bones might be better on this b | bazzer1000 |
