Took a few out at 32p to pay for a new boiler but very happy to stay fully loaded in WEY. Must admit was expecting a bit of upward movement today ahead of results but this is an excellent long term play. Good looking graph, my target is 60p and will leave a good chunk in with a 10% stop loss.

As they say, a profit is not a profit unless you take it.

I think they will be out Monday next week, there was a £31k buy yesterday at close and I will be watching tomorrow afternoon closely to see in further large buys appear. I feel there is more upside than downside here, good luck for Monday all

On some financial calendars WEY results are on NOV 9th: MONDAY.
The last update we had from WEY was this (back in July):

We have been warned of potential good news::

Barrie Whipp, Chairman, commented "Performance across the group has remained strong and we have continued to invest in education quality and marketing. We expect to exceed market forecasts for profitability and the excess would have been higher had we not continued to invest now for future growth. The task at hand is to continue with our investment programme in order to ensure that we take advantage of Wey's prominent position in the online education sector, which is more relevant now than at any time in the Company's history"

MONDAY 9th NOV. - Possible results day.

I'm note sure if Academy21 are applying for some of this £350M-£1B money - re-tutoring... But perhaps they are:

From article:
"
The government's £350m allocation to tutoring through the £1bn coronavirus catch-up package.
"
AND
"
The tutoring will be subsidised by 75% and some sessions could cost schools as little as £50 for a block of 15, say the organisers.

"IF" end goal of management is to sell company to large American (or Australian) Education company they obviously will have to keep a lid on the price.

"IF" end goal of management is to keep company British but sell their shares in buoyant market and retire they also will need to keep a lid on the current price.

My view is I originally bought into WEY (years ago) for two reasons:
1. e-learning is the future
2. a buyout by large company once WEY proved their model works.

I would like to see WEY sold for a price of about 60p - £1 a share somewhere down the line. It needs HUGE AMOUNTS OF CAPITAL to build up a LARGE FTSE E-LEARNING business.

Some key data on remote learning. It might or might not be relevant for WEY

WEY definitely need an App - zillions more people access the internet via an App then a Laptop...
I would like to hear in the up and coming results that WEY are developing (or have developed) an e-learning App.
Top 10 e-learning Apps (WEY need to get into this list):

wanttowin: In previous discussions with WEY (investor zoom evening) it was clear that SCHOOL lockdown actually is mixed for WEY. Never good nor bad. The growth, generally speaking, is happening despite SCHOOL lockdown not because of it.
Did others get the same impression from investor evening (zoom meeting)?

This lockdown is different in that schools are remaining open but some pupils are staying off in larger and larger numbers due to covid outbreaks in the teenage years.

Anyway, we will soon find out - Nov 9th...

Trading has continued to be very positive since the publication of the group's interim announcement in May and is in excess of expectations. Group turnover is expected to be in excess of GBP8m for the financial year ending on August 31, 2020, an anticipated growth of in excess of 30% from the previous year.

Home School is often a "lockdown" winner, especially if results are due on the 9th and the last trading update we had was the company was doing "better than expected"....
But we will see what we will see.

Could well be right. I'll be looking at the post year end news. The leoinvestor blog, posted here a couple of weeks ago, will make a pretty good basis by which to judge the news.
