Gozzie- 0.3% of the people who catch it, the majority won't even know they have until they get tested for it. Give me a disease with no symptoms for 2 weeks over a Chinese Style Surveillance State Regime for the rest of my life, no problem.

Gozzie- You don't care about the care homes otherwise you wouldn't be putting it all down to a mistake. There have been many accounts online from care workers in these places and quite frankly there should be mass criminal charges brought to all those involved and covering it up, I believe that should also apply to the NHS.

Sorry to hear about your niece.

0.3 percent die of it but its the amount in hospital as well thats the problem .I hope you don't die on your sofa with no oxygen like they are in Sarajevo. They are full up.

Oh I do care about the care homes. I said it was a disgrace and other people like my niece that has terminal cancer at 34 .If they don't get on top of this they can't cope with these other problems .There will be loads of health care workers off in winter and they won't have the beds .The flu season starts December let's hope that's a mild one .Its not gone away by magic .

Gozzie- Statistically it's no worse than flu, if you want to buy into the hype that's your problem not mine.

There you go again no worse than the flu .How old are you and family and none of you have underlying problems like high blood pressure or diabetes .Maybe it will take someone you know to be ill to wake up. The lady at my local sandwich shop is poorly with it now closed down .The flu never put Boris and trump in hospital.

So they've pretty much completely cured the flu worldwide. This is what we are being told to believe so they can pump the covid no's.

Southern hemisphere.

Northern hemisphere.

Gozzie- So you are being sold a Chinese surveillance style regime off the back of a virus statistically no worse than the flu?

Ok as long as you are acknowledging that then that's your prerogative.

You have absolutely no right to feel any moral superiority over me as a result though.

On the contrary in fact it seems you don't even care what happens in care homes or to the people dying of other conditions unable to get treatment while the lockdowns are in place.

"Because for the 20th time if you get cases very low so that you are able to track and trace people that have it with a system like south korea you can open safely .Then you quarantine strictly anyone that goes in and out of the country. Its not rocket science."

but IMPOSSIBLE for English people or authorities to do because compared to the Asians...and I have spent years there...we are completely

USELESS

and what works for Asia most definitely does not work here.

Gozzie- But you are advocating a Chinese style traffic light health passport system. You do realise when people talk about track and trace that is what they mean?

I said the flu will be lower .We are distancing and using masks more .If we always wore them our flu rates would always be lower but people don't like wearing them.

Its not rocket science. There are too many with it at the moment theres 1000s its out of control. We can't trace them they haven't a clue who has it.

bad gateway- Yeah it is unusual how they will only acknowledge facts depending on who's delivering them. Strange phenomenon.

Gozzie- But why wouldn't they just keep it going on until the same time next year as they did this year before releasing lockdowns? People fell for it this time round so surely it would be a wasted opportunity not to do the same again?

WHO are you insane nfluenzaMenuInfluenza update - 37926 October 2020, based on data up to 11 October 2020SummaryThe current influenza surveillance data should be interpreted with caution as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic have influenced to varying extents health seeking behaviours, staffing/routines in sentinel sites, as well as testing priorities and capacities in Member States. The various hygiene and physical distancing measures implemented by Member States to reduce SARS-CoV-2 virus transmission have likely played a role in reducing influenza virus transmission.Globally, despite continued or even increased testing for influenza in some countries influenza activity remained at lower levels than expected for this time of the year.In the temperate zone of the northern hemisphere, influenza activity remained below inter-seasonal levels, though influenza detections were reported in some countries. In the temperate zones of the southern hemisphere, the influenza season remained low or below baseline overall. Very few influenza detections were reported across countries. In the Caribbean and Central American countries, there were no influenza detections reported. Severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) activity, likely due to COVID-19, decreased in most reporting countries. In tropical South America, there were no influenza detections across reporting countries. In tropical Africa, influenza activity was reported in Côte d'Ivoire and Mali.In Southern Asia there were sporadic influenza detections across reporting countries. In South East Asia, increased influenza detections were reported in Cambodia and Lao People's Democratic Republic (PDR).Worldwide, of the very low numbers of detections reported, seasonal influenza A(H3N2) viruses accounted for the majority of detections.National Influenza Centres (NICs) and other national influenza laboratories from 69 countries, areas or territories reported data to FluNet for the time period from 28 September 2020 to 11 October 2020 (data as of 2020-10-23 04:13:16 UTC).The WHO GISRS laboratories tested more than 81257 specimens 1 during that time period. A total of 172 specimens were positive for influenza viruses, of which 108 (62.8%) were typed as influenza A and 64 (37.2%) as influenza B. Of the sub-typed influenza A viruses, 4 (6.1%) were influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 and 62 (93.9%) were influenza A(H3N2). Of the characterized B viruses, 2 (8%) belonged to the B-Yamagata lineage and 23 (92%) to the B-Victoria lineage.
