13/6/2005 22:25 | Still time for a placing, but not so for an offer for subscription by 30 June Rivaldo. I hope we get the chance to invest, but I suspect not on this one as they normally send out a card to all shareholders a few weeks in advance of the prospectus to ask whether we are interested in taking part and that hasn't happened..yet, anyway! | topvest
13/6/2005 21:12 | Thx for that topvest, intriguing stuff, particularly the timing given that we know there's a preference for pre 30th June. Seems unlikely though imo given the lack of time. Nice to have something to hopefully look forward to anyway... | rivaldo
13/6/2005 21:06 | RTI Eighteen Plc has applied for a certificate to start trading per Companies House dated 6 June. Next IPO looks like it is imminent. Anyone know what is going to be reversed into this one? | topvest
25/5/2005 19:48 | A rather low profile and oddly timed announcement. I expect a somewhat more detailed Chairman's Statement than this, to be frank. Still going to hold and may be more exitement to come. Still no sign of demerging the football business. Indeed seem to indicate that this stays. How does this impact the taper relief position? Maybe a question to put to the directors? Anyway, let's hope we get another reverse takeover before the end of June. | topvest
25/5/2005 17:22 | Agreed, though there are some good points: - the operating loss is down, and that's entirely due to admin expenses being well down which is good to see - the Elms is still nicely profitable and should be "materially better" this year So at 31/12/04 there was £2.07m cash, £3.2m investments and (say) the Elms being worth £1m at 1.25 times sales. That's £6.27m, or 6.7p per share. I haven't recalculated recently, but YRK is still well up on 31/12 so NAV should be higher than 6.7p. Interesting timing for Weston, managing to nip in just ahead of the results when no Notice of Results RNS had been released... | rivaldo
25/5/2005 17:01 | Rather unremarkable results issued at a very strange time. Still looks a decent value play. | mark c graham
25/5/2005 15:38 | Can anyone aware of the history of WST say what Weston's intentions are or his background? He's ben buying consistently for at least 2 years now (wish I'd been quicker and nipped in as he did!). | rivaldo
25/5/2005 14:56 | Westside Acquisitions PLC 25 May 2005 Westside Acquisitions PLC ('the Company') Holding in Company The Company was advised today that WJ Weston purchased 300,000 ordinary shares of the Company on 24 May 2005. WJ Weston is now interested in a total of 10,700,000 ordinary shares, representing approximately 10.86% per cent. of the issued share capital of the Company. | jimmmy
24/5/2005 15:54 | Well done, bipos, perfect timing, I think. MMs will now buy 250k at 4.25 but only sell you 50k at 4.7. Could go higher soon. | mark c graham
23/5/2005 16:00 | could be a buy , just before that trans-action i pruchase 50,000 at 4p (wst) | bipos
23/5/2005 15:53 | One day too soon. Someone just dumped 250k at 4p. | mark c graham
20/5/2005 09:18 | Tip reopened. Back in in a small way (2 x 25k @ 4.25p, both showing as sells). Spread is unusually narrow this morning, with the offer price dropped right down. Capital gain to NTA again looks attractive at 54%. | mark c graham
19/5/2005 09:36 | Ta topvest, I think you're probably right about the taper relief. GS wasn't categorical, just that if WST try to beat 30/6 (for the reason you state) it'll be difficult to arrange the extra time necessary to make it available to WST shareholders. But it may be that the IPO happens post 30/6 - so we can only assume that it's close but undecided at the moment. One thing's for sure, it's already 19th May so if things aren't finalised yet I'd be very surprised if they do actually get it listed pre 30/6. | rivaldo
18/5/2005 22:34 | rivaldo - I don't think it does as it's principally an investment company. Best to get advice from your accountant though. Did GS say that the next IPO wouldn't be offered to WST shareholders then? What are the 30/6 changes..maybe tied up with Prospectus Directive? | topvest
18/5/2005 15:49 | Hi topvest. I spoke to GS - results out very soon. Not too bothered about the share price decline - it'll correct eventually when NAV figures come out. More to the point, GS was fairly clear (in my estimation) that there will be another IPO, and maybe two, this year. It's possible WST holders won't get to participate if number one is pre 30/6 as it'll have to be done in a hurry to beat the new rules which come into force then. Otherwise we may get a chance. So I'm happy to hold. Can you remind me (sorry if I've asked this before) - do you think WST qualifies for AIM taper relief or not given its ownership of a trading business? | rivaldo
23/4/2005 19:37 | Anyone know when the results are due? See The Elms has expanded into tennis schools Is this business ready for an IPO? Goals has been very successful and another 5 a side business is being floated on AIM soon per IC. This is smaller, but the time has to be right to raise a £1m for this and set the whole of Westside Sports free. Views? | topvest
22/4/2005 15:19 | Why the fall? Can,t find a reason, not that many sells today! | warrej
15/4/2005 13:06 | Price moving up on very low volume. ADE, YRK and CLS all doing well of late, so could see this one climb further. | highland drovers
22/3/2005 21:32 | Taken a bit of a hiding today. Probably a delayed reaction to the bout of profit taking on York Pharma. Looking better value again at this level. | topvest
18/3/2005 22:06 | Something definitely seems to be going on here imo. Lots of buying. Does someone know something I wonder? | topvest
18/3/2005 14:23 | Another 100,000 bought at 8.5p. Hmmm... | rivaldo
17/3/2005 11:15 | Topvest, I didn't realise the warrants were up so soon - I'll definitely have to include them in my calculations. | rivaldo
16/3/2005 23:11 | Very nice for the long term holders (like me) who can remember Mahmood on HSBB ramping the t*ts off these in 1999. More to come? TBB | thebarrelboy
16/3/2005 21:01 | Rovaldo - The warrants are exercisable by November I think, so given the current position I'd assume they will all be converted. | topvest
16/3/2005 19:57 | Thx topvest - the differential is in the warrants. I generally ignore warrants as they're normally exerciseable so far in the future that they're usually irrelevant - either the company's a lot larger by the time they're exercised and the dilution will be minimal anyway, or I'll have sold before it becomes an issue. I realise many might disagree with this opinion! Another 150,000 bought at 8.5p today! Either someone's very confident or something's happening... | rivaldo |
