02/3/2005 11:11 | Good luck Mark, no shame in taking a profit. I'll stick with WST for a while I think: - YRK has limited free float and a good PR machine! It could just double or treble from here, in which case WST will probably do much the same, but with less downside risk due to the £2.5m cash and sizeable NAV - as topvest says, there's the strong possibility of corporate action with the 5-a-side business - and I'm sure there will be more spin-outs, and maybe soon in order to beat the new rules on cash shell flotations. As a WST shareholder there's the chance to invest on the ground floor and benefit twice over... | rivaldo
02/3/2005 10:07 | Personally, I think the next value hike is on Westside Sports. This needs to be floated this year imo and could offer considerable value to WST holders. On-top of that we should hop for a couple of additional IPO's. | topvest
02/3/2005 09:50 | Mark, what share price did get on exit............. thanks, CC | canford cliffs
02/3/2005 09:39 | I am now out. Total profit over 40%, as opposed to the 25% in the header, having topped up at lower levels since my original purchase. In my view, the discount to NAV has now reached a reasonable level, and I don't find the YRK investment story compelling. Good luck to those that continue to hold. | mark c graham
02/3/2005 08:30 | Nice start! I suppose we'll be inextricably linked to YRK for a while, but with NAV at probably above 8p there's no reason why WST shouldn't trade on a 7p-7.5p spread. I haven't received the full accounts yet, but I assume due to past investment write-offs that WST have lots of tax losses to offset, in which case there'd be no reason for any discount to NAV at all. | rivaldo
01/3/2005 21:44 | It will if York Pharma hits my price target! It will be a bumpy ride though. | topvest
01/3/2005 20:58 | anyone think this will go higher than 6? | abouttime
01/3/2005 19:41 | Think that's about it for now imo and may fall back a tad unless York Pharma accelerates or they have another deal lined-up. | topvest
01/3/2005 19:26 | Can't complain :o)) Nice 75k buy there at the close at 6.5p - above the offer! Could be another good start tomorrow. | rivaldo
01/3/2005 19:13 | if we get to 7p on the bid, this will have doubled in 4 weeks............... | canford cliffs
01/3/2005 09:54 | wst still moving up - could we see new highs in weeks ahead? | canford cliffs
28/2/2005 21:59 | Looking good here. If you want a risky bet in the "WST stable" then I like CLSW which are currently trading at 0.2p and have a couple of years to run. I think Cheerful Scout is on the verge of coming good and could be a multi-bagger this year. Quite risky, but worth a punt imo alongside an investment in the ordinary shares. | topvest
28/2/2005 17:39 | Mark, I assume the CLS warrants are exerciseable at 2.5p, the same as the issue price of the CLS shares in May 2002. YRK closed at 165p. Every 18p of YRK price increase adds 0.5p to WST's NAV.....and YRK was up 31p today. | rivaldo
28/2/2005 17:00 | and more !! | ursamajorra
28/2/2005 15:26 | Might get the grand I invested yonks ago back then | you for coffee
28/2/2005 14:42 | rivaldo - warrant exercise prices added, except I don't know the CLS exercise price. | mark c graham
28/2/2005 14:33 | Many thx topvest. Mark, a favour - could you put the exercise prices of the YRK and ADE warrants in the header as well? You're doing a great job - ta. YRK is up to 163p now - I reckon that's another £200k on to NAV, which would take Mark's NAV up to 8.4p. Still a long way for the share price 5to go to catch up assuming YRK continues to do well - although I'd have thought YRK's price is underpinned now at the recent 80p fundraising price. Come on Geoffrey, let's have another IPO spin-out. An oil/mineral resource IPO would do me nicely at the moment! | rivaldo
28/2/2005 13:25 | WST gives a nice, relatively low risk exposure to YRK, at present. Movements in the YRK share price feed through at a ratio of about 50% to WST's NAV (e.g. 100% rise in YRK leads to a 50% rise in WST NAV). Upside is half retained, and any narrowing of the discount would gear up WST returns further. Downside is limited by other assets, particularly the cash, e.g. if YRK falls 50%, WST's NAV is still greater than the current offer price. | mark c graham
28/2/2005 12:54 | Well done Mark. | ursamajorra
28/2/2005 12:46 | Rivaldo - end of November at 2.75p I think, from memory. Going well today! | topvest
28/2/2005 12:42 | MMs are killing the market just now. Can only buy 2,500 online at 5.5p (but can sell 250,000 at 4.875p). | mark c graham
28/2/2005 12:38 | Header revised to show: - updated performance stats (now it's finally reached profit!) - EPICs for all RTI investments - NAV breakdown as at 28/02/05 | mark c graham
28/2/2005 11:12 | That 17% looks a pretty good move to me! As the old disc-jockeys on the American Forces Network used to say "It's number one - and going higher all the time". | sandbank
28/2/2005 11:07 | :o)) Depend what you wanna pay shumba. NAV is probably well over 8p now. With YRK at 155p that stake alone is worth £3.5m, and with the £2.5m or so cash equates to £6m or 6.3p per share, without any of the other stakes in ADE, CLS or The Elms. EDIT - topvest, do you know offhand the exercise price and expiry date of the warrants? | rivaldo |
