The contract is significant as it represents a large win in China, a market that is outgrowing the US and Europe, and where there should be substantial untapped opportunity for its products over time. Last year WANdisco announced an OEM deal with Alibaba and the company is now integrated into the standard data migration, disaster recovery and big data analytics components of Alibaba Cloud. However, this deal is through WANdisco's direct sales channel, and thus highlights its multiple routes to market here. The statement also suggests there is substantial opportunity for expansion at this new client.In a wider context, this announcement also underlines WANdisco's growing global presence. Over the last year it has deepened its relationships with Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure and IBM and broadened its product base – the company is steadily strengthening its position in the cloud eco-system. We leave our forecasts unchanged at this point. Full year results are expected on 24 April.

This deal and the one early Jan we're direct so I see your point. I hope/assume Azure and AWS are producing multiple contract between $100k-$200k as mentioned last Sept. they certainly need to be. I guess if they are they won't be reported as not deemed material. The presentation end of the month will be interesting.

I'm getting a bit confused as to what's going on here.

They didn't want to go down the direct sales route because they couldn't sustain the wage bill, and they banged on about the 1000's of direct sales team numbers in IBM that would do the job for them.

So far, for all the top tier routes to market they've signed up to, the traction is concerning, and now it seems they're selling via their own direct sales team.

What has Alibaba been doing, IBM, Amazon etc? That's a lot of boots on the ground, it's not a big ask to see just a handful of sales announced?????

They moved their model from license sales to recurring revenue and now a fixed amount license sale has appeared - with the tease that it could be increased from 'limited'.

I'd like a bit of clarity from WAND before I commit to a position here.

Agee completely. We've seen a step-up in the joint marketing ventures with case studies, videos and the like with Azure and AWS but these need to quickly translate into sales. The best ever pipeline they talk about along with cos by in large developing a multi vendor cloud strategy should mean wand are primed. Heard it all before and it's about significantly upping revenues and having a very profitable H2 even if H1 isn't as good. By the time they release the FY results they should be ready to release Q1 but I know they moved away from quarterly reporting so unless is a stonker I reckon we'll have to wait for the interim's in the summer (hopefully not Sept!). It'd be good to hear about how the joint engineered IBM product is going down and what are the other partners doing.

At least we have a date committed for the YE. Even As a bull there is no denying that the spotty nature of their execution is all the proof a sane investor would need to confirm the stock is over valued.. its all very well saying that a company has great product and a huge TAM .. but if it’s not hitting inflection .. I suspect their direct sales effort needs to be deeper .. but that takes a lot of dollars ..

Validation through a OEM with msft , would allow the capital markets to open up for them to tap some big dollars to properly invest in direct and channel strategy ..

Billion dollar companies are rarely built in $80 mn dollars of investment ..

Sounds good as you'd assume they'll use different providers for their different advantages so would want the data being live in all sites and only fusion can provide that. You'd also expect them to want the same with one provider with JEDI as they'll be in multiple sites across the US. We'll see but news not too far away.

I’m out. Feels like de ja vue, with yet another raise, climb and then decline. We have been here before and on low volume the small retail investors can almost move the price. The technology is great - I think it is just niche and it won’t achieve serious traction. It has had 5 years and what £80m thrown at it after all. Goodluck!

In these uncertain times low volume can still wreak havoc. Today's trades equate to approx. 0.1% of the issued share capital, and the stock tanks 7.7%. More a commentary on market conditions than Wand's prospects, and MMs trying to keep balanced books.

We know they've missed the interim expectations due to the Edison report. The board reduced its expectations hence they're now inline. Commentary will be key and hopefully some decent wins RNS'd too.

Worth a watch -

Towards the end there's a mention of Hadoop and one can see what the drivers are in migration to cloud, all put over in lay mans speak, also the scale of data even for relatively small projects is in Petabyte territory.
