02/9/2019 13:23 | They talk their own book with how clever they all are and only they can move large data without outage, doesn't seem to be a rush to take it up though. Bit of a disconnect with what they say about themselves and the sales uptake, as said, they talk their own book. This company has been around for a while and cloud migration has been gathering at quite a place, so it's strange that WAND via all it's 'partnerships' is seriously lacking sales momentum. It was saying the same sort of bumf regarding Hadoop and that business model died a death, the sales model changed again re, licensing etc. This isn't performing as WAND have led the market to believe. IMO | owenski
02/9/2019 12:56 | I'd be shocked if they hit $30m revenue FY. Q1 was $4m so the next 3 need to be over 100% more than Q1. I think hitting circa $20m has been proved in which will better than 2019. I hope they can announce the integration of Azure with the interim report (although not named) as they should produce some quick revenue and give some confidence. The capital markets day presentation should be interesting too as I'm sure analysts and IIs will be fed up of jam tomorrow. | tickboo
02/9/2019 08:38 | Yeah, it doesn't seem very 'must have' sadly. | cokehookerscars
02/9/2019 06:12 | For a company with such a 'must have product' the contracts are few and far between. Last one was in June if I recall for a mere 750k. I have doubts that they'll meet their financial targets. | owenski

21/8/2019 15:55 | That's why there are so many more enterprises who haven't yet moved to the cloud due to business disruption. There are other replication cos but my understanding is that they are not able to move petabyte scale of data to the cloud without downtime. Before live migrator it's still take fusion weeks or months depending on the volume to move to the cloud without disruption so it's done but by bit whereas they're able to do so a lot more efficiently. "WANdisco LiveMigrator enables for the first time the mass migration of petabyte scale data to the cloud without interruption to service. Working in harmony with WANdisco Fusion, the Company can now support businesses through their entire live data journey from on premises to multi-cloud. We believe WANdisco LiveMigrator is the fundamental missing technology for large scale enterprise cloud adoption." | tickboo
21/8/2019 15:20 | Is WAND really the only company which can migrate databases to the cloud whilst keeping them online & running without downtime ? If so I am amazed this isn't winning all of the contracts with companies who have significant SLA's to uphold. | cokehookerscars
21/8/2019 12:33 | If rivals can do what Luce migrator does then yes they've they've misinformed the market. I'm pretty sure the others have to have multiple passes and it takes a good while to establish the strategy, which applications move, when, what downtime etc.On LinkedIn DR is speaking with @Neudesic's Mike Scariano: "@WANdisco is the missing piece to migrate #Hadoop clusters to the #cloud"Mike says they expect to have product integrated by the Azure DTA on 17-19 Sept and I imagine Azure will want fusion integrated by then in its products too so Q4 could be massive. I've said that before though.Through applying WANdisco's unique non-blocking live data technology, LiveMigrator allows migration from on-premise to the cloud in a single pass without a costly interruption to service and at significantly greater speed than previously possible.LiveMigrato | tickboo
21/8/2019 12:17 | Well certainly that is what you've been told. So, if WAND doesn't form part of the solution would you accept that means you have been misinformed? | blah blah
21/8/2019 12:01 | The two frontrunners, AWS and Azure both have deals with WAND (as many others do) but no other providers can move that amount of data to the cloud without downtime in a single pass which means it's quicker/more efficient and with a lot less risk. Moving Daimler's data to the Azure cloud took several months with fusion so being able to do so quickly with guaranteed uptime would suggest fusion would be the recommended option. In addition, there's a loud call for JEDI to have more flexibility and after a year or two be able to use other providers for different element so are not tied in and or reliant on one provider due to cost and others having better elements (eg AI) they might want to use. WAND is the only co that can w sure data is lice across multiple locations and cloud providers. | tickboo
21/8/2019 11:20 | You have been banging on about this one particular contract for ages. I can see no reason why out of the 99.999% of all the massive cloud migrations that happen each year you have alighted on this one as one that will use WAND. Care to enlighten us? Or is it just blind optimism? | blah blah
21/8/2019 08:56 | I'm not sure the job has been priced in so I doubt it'll go down.Given the complexities and time it can take getting huge amounts of data to the cloud I'd be shocked if they didn't use live migrator which can do it a lot more easily and quickly. They're keen to get into cloud ASAP so I expect fusion will be part of that. No idea what the revenue figure will be but it'll be material and in the £ms.See the interim is being announced end of Sept with a Capital markets day a couple of weeks after. The H1 2018 had $9m in bookings and $5.7m in revenue. We know that Q1 2019 had $4m in revenue which was 40% higher than 2018 which must've been £2.85m or so. Q2 2018 must've been a similar figure to Q1. I've no idea if the H1 shows $8m for H1 how the market will respond, they need over $30m FY to hit forecast so a very long way to go! | tickboo

14/8/2019 16:13 | Who knows how long this will drag on for but they know they need to get moving. That said if they think the process was unfair Who knows what the next steps will be.The Pentagon's internal watchdog on Tuesday said that it is investigating potential ethics concerns around the $10 billion "war cloud" contract at the center of an ongoing tug-of-war among lawmakers and the White House. The Pentagon Inspector General said it is reviewing aspects of the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI) program, including allegations of possible misconduct in the contract awarding process. It was previously known that the Pentagon inspector general's office was reviewing ethical concerns around JEDI, but the inspector general's statement on Tuesday marks detailed insight into an official probe."We are reviewing the DoD's handing of the JEDI cloud acquisition, including the development of requirements and the request for proposal process," spokeswoman Dwrena Allen said in a statement. She added "a multidisciplinary team" is investigating concerns around JEDI "referred to us by Members of Congress and through the DoD Hotline. In addition, we are investigating whether current or former DoD officials committed misconduct relating to the JEDI acquisition, such as whether any had any conflicts of interest related to their involvement in the acquisition process."The JEDI contract, which is set to be awarded to either Amazon or Microsoft, would allow one company to develop cloud-computing infrastructure for the Pentagon. The contract could last for up to 10 years, though it begins at only two, and is valued at up to $10 billion."Our review is ongoing and our team is making substantial progress," Allen said. "We recognize the importance and time-sensitive nature of the issues, and we intend to complete our review as expeditiously as possible."The contract was previously expected to be awarded this summer, but DOD officials told reporters in a briefing last week that it will likely be delayed. The watchdog review of JEDI is happening alongside an internal review of JEDI ordered earlier this month by new Defense Secretary Mark Esper.Esper ordered the review shortly after President Trump said he would ask his administration to investigate whether the JEDI contract is biased towards Amazon.Amazon is largely favored to win the lucrative cloud-computing contract, as experts have noted the company's cloud-computing arm, Amazon Web Services, is the best-equipped to handle the troves of classified and top-secret data involved.Republican lawmakers over the past two months have issued a series of dueling letters over the contract as well, as some - including several members of the House Armed Services Committee, which oversees the DOD - have urged the Pentagon to award the contract quickly, while others have said the process should be stalled amid bias allegations.Since the JEDI program was announced two years ago, it has been the subject of significant and expensive lobbying efforts by some of the country's top cloud-computing companies, including Amazon, Microsoft and Oracle.Oracle has acted as the prime JEDI antagonist, taking the DOD to court over claims that the cloud-computing procurement process was unfair and biased.A federal judge dismissed Oracle's claims, saying the company did not provide proper evidence. And multiple government investigations have cleared the DOD of wrongdoing. The Pentagon inspector general's office said it will report its findings to Esper and Congress."We will also consider publicly releasing the results, consistent with our standard processes," the spokeswoman said. The Pentagon's chief information officer told reporters during a briefing last week that Esper's review will involve "a series of education programs that allow him to get a deep understanding" of the program."He obviously has a role to weigh into the overall direction of this program," Deasey said. "For him to be able to do that, he needs to first go through a series of deep education sessions." | tickboo
13/8/2019 10:47 | I got from that article that WAND are just not delivering and had to change the business model and market is still waiting for them to deliver | owenski
13/8/2019 10:45 | We didn't get a H1 update in July (like last year) so I assume it's not great and I assume they'll want to release good news with the H1 update. Let's see. | tickboo
13/8/2019 10:44 | Yep a decent article and there's no doubt there are many cos who will be moving lots and lots of data to the cloud in the coming months and years wand needs to produce and produce this half of the year. I'll be amazed if wand hits the $32m FY forecast given it generated $4m in Q1 (albeit 40% up). If it hits $25m and still has a healthy enough balance sheet so doesn't need to raise it'll be a decent enough year and next year with the (I assume) Azure partnership fully integrated and up and running 2020 should be a lot better so no need for more cash. One can hope! | tickboo
02/8/2019 15:56 | Yep, not ideal although I can't see this additional review taking too long. Whoever wins the correct will use Wand's live migrator as it's a lot quicker and more simple than the alternatives. Whether Amazon or Microsoft wins the final award, that company will face a hectic late summer and fall. The DoD specified that the contract recipient has to be able to host the classified data within 180 days of receiving the contract award while Secret and Top Secret data will have 270 days. This could drift given the delay but I imagine the contract award will come out of the blue and it should mean very material revenue from wand which will be subject to an RNS and one would think it'll be tricky to buy while it goes north. | tickboo
02/8/2019 15:44 | Still see no reason to buy this yet, inc. delays. | owenski
25/7/2019 19:59 | Anyone who is new to this board be aware that I love this company's and its tech but didn't sell at £15 and didn't see the last raise coming. Some might say I'm being pessimistic as I have fewer shares. Was just giving a view which I've done on many occasions and have illustrated how hit and more often miss my views are!Anyway, here's hoping wand moves onwards and upwards and sustainably. | tickboo
25/7/2019 19:52 | Weird that Blackrock are still shorting though. That said they don't always get it right.I still hold a decent number and have bought some but still over 50% down on prior holding. I'll buy some more in the next couple of weeks as although Trump doesn't want AWS and a single cloud vendor to win JEDI many senators want it sorted with the view that in a year or two they'll use multiple vendors anyway. It does look like it will go higher although the lack of a trading update for H1 tells me they're well behind (like last year when they didn't release mid-July) and were relying on the Azure tie-up. I doubt they'll hit FY forecast as it'll take a while to embed with Azure but I've no doubt all being well finally next year will be profitable and massive. I imagine this will go higher before falling on the next update. | tickboo
25/7/2019 17:12 | The way this is going you may want to buy before August IMHO. | jackdaw4243
18/7/2019 09:52 | If anyone doubted the strategic relationship was with Azure the last 2 partner RNSs confirm this. The JEDI contract is expected to be awarded st the end of August although a couple of senators have written to the Defence dept to ask for a delay as they believe the decision to award to a single provider is flawed and using more than one vendor will ensure better pricing and using different vendors for different elements. If they're listened to there could be a further delay. Hopefully they decide to go with both AWS and Azure but regardless I can't see them not using live migrator to get the data to the cloud and keep the datasets live in different locations in the US.I hope to buy a fair chunk more back by the end of August. | tickboo |
