17/1/2020 11:02 | 5G is going to take time to roll out, and will only be in cities for the foreseeable future imo. Pining hopes on 5G roll out as per above CEO statement, along with VR headsets, I'm not so sure. There are no groundbreaking new releases of headsets scheduled for this year, so I don't see a major uptick in this area. IMO will have to wait for the next generation of headsets, i.e the Quest 2 whenever that arrives, and also Playstation 5, hopefully will bring a new PSVR. These, along with a more mature 5G could see VR pushing on the mainstream, but that won't be until 2021 at least imo. | rocksteady01
16/1/2020 14:04 | VR Education Holdings plc Trading Update, 16 January 2020 David Whelan, CEO of VR Education, said: "While it is disappointing to not have grown revenues for FY19 at the pace previously forecasted, we have grown in the year and made significant progress which lays solid foundations for further growth in FY20. With VR adoption becoming more mainstream through the wider availability of new standalone VR devices, along with the improvements that 5G deployment will bring, we are confident that 2020 will see an increase in demand for immersive experiences. As a result, we believe that the Group will see continued strong growth of sales of our VR showcase experiences as well as an accelerated adoption of our ENGAGE platform for education and enterprise clients, who are working closely with major telecom companies providing 5G services for training and education." | turbocharge

04/12/2019 09:24 | VR Education Holdings PLC VRE to Launch 5G VR Device with Deutsche Telekom 04/12/2019 7:00am David Whelan, CEO of VR Education, said: "VR and AR technology (XR) up to now has only appealed to very large corporations for training and the hardcore video game community. 5G deployment is about to change this mindset allowing for more immersive experiences, faster streaming services and smaller end user devices making a currently niche product appeal to a mass market. This new 5G VR device is certainly much smaller and lighter than what we have seen in the past from other manufacturers and we are definitely in touching distance of where XR headsets will actually have the same form as standard glasses. "Having a leading telecom company such as Deutsche Telekom push forward with an XR offering for their new 5G customers is a welcome development and ENGAGE being part of this push on the corporate training and education side is very exciting." | turbocharge
04/12/2019 07:59 | 'VR Education (AIM: VRE; Euronext Growth: 6VR), a leading virtual reality ('VR') technology company focused on the education and enterprise training space, is pleased to announce that the Group's ENGAGE platform has been selected as one of a handful of titles to be a launch application for a new 5G VR head mounted display ('HMD'), which is currently being developed in partnership with Deutsche Telekom, Qualcomm Technologies Inc. and XRSPACE. It is anticipated that this new 5G VR HMD, which is lighter and less bulky than its predecessors and due for launch in mid-2020, will deliver a significant boost to the VR ecosystem through its low latency attributes, allowing it to redefine the way people connect, learn, socialise, play and collaborate.' This new space title will provide significantly expanded and differentiated content while building on the enthusiasm generated by our Apollo 11 title, which to date has sold over 215,000 copies and continues to show strong sales each month. The launch of Shuttle Commander further increases assets and content for our ENGAGE platform where educators and corporate trainers can create their own learning content." | turbocharge |
