The global battery electric cars market will reach 52m by 2025 (IEA Electric vehicle stock in the EV3030 scenario 2018-2030). Volex provides high-current power cords with numerous safety features to this fast-growing market.

Tesla
delivery of more than 180,000 vehicles during the fourth quarter was a record

Volkswagen AG pulled well ahead of Tesla Inc. in battery-electric vehicle sales last year as Europe’s incumbent carmakers rose to the challenge from Elon Musk’s Model 3.

Volex supplies both

Off topic - but I was really impressed by Sri Lanka when I visited there a couple of years ago. As a country and as a people they deserve to do well I think.
They really need some decent roads though - it's a bit chicken and egg, no infrastructure, no foreign investment, no foreign investment, no infrastructure.

Nat preparing the ground for a new Sri Lankan facility...?

"Just finished a trip to learn first hand about SL’s suitability as a manufacturing location for electronics. Came away highly impressed by govt of
@PresRajapaksa and its pandemic response as well as the businesses I met. SL is a true gem with a great future. #GoSL #SriLanka"

Depends what the fund rules are. They might have no choice but to sell down. I don't know why Downing are selling but it seems contrary to the recent narrative and the growth of the markets VLX operate in.

This is a general rule, not specific advice for VLX, getting 'cheap' shares when instis or others are forced sellers is recognised as a good way for PIs gain an edge. One needs to make their own mind up if that applies in this case :)

TWD today, bodes well for VLX....The pipeline of revenue opportunities across the primary target markets of Electric Vehicle ("EV"), Medical and Aerospace continues to grow............We are in discussions with an ever growing number of potential customers and the opportunities ahead of us in our primary target markets and the longer-term prospects for Trackwise continue to grow

Excellent company at first glance. Drawn to it by the excellent write ups by Paul Scott. First impressions are this will do well in the moves into global energy and EVs. Strong insider and institutional buys. All fundamentals seem sound. If this breaks 380 there's going to be some real upside. Further researching of the sector as its new to me and watching like a hawk.

Yep, 20k at these levels, and is double the usual 10k share price prop of a dog company... I'd take that as a positive.

Part of the drop may be related to the news (repeated in the Telegraph today) that most car manufacturers have slashed production due to a shortage of electronic chips.
