I picked up some Volex (VLX) - what seems like a boring company is doing rather well and is
gradually on the rise. Some of my best students are in it.

When I say boring I mean boring. Cables and that type of thing. Not that it matters as
its products appear to be in demand and statements coming from the company
appear bullish with raised profit forecasts.

UK GOV announced that bringing forward ban on sales of petrol and diesel vehicles, from 2040 to 2030. Boads well for all stocks with a stake in EV. Diligent research required as many will be busily "EV washing" themselves.

With record demand for EV, im staying put here. Ride your winners. In a couple of years time I wouldn't be surprised to see £10 plus. With the upcoming demand for Electric vehicles...

I am looking at

and it does not appear.

Perhaps you mean that it was one of the shares picked by the highest number of entrants to Stockopedia's 2021 contest.

Added as one of the 2021 naps in Small Company Share Watch at the weekend - which is the main reason for the jump here. With those potential upcoming acquisitions - all looking very good :-)

Summary of stockopedia 2021 pick comment.Volex is very much a quality and momentum play, with solid signs of robust profitability and business strength. Its cash balance is strong and improving and it's debt free. Shares in the company performed exceptionally through 2020 and brokers have responded to new acquisitions with upward revisions to earnings forecasts. It's not outrageously expensive, but value investors might be deterred by a fairly rich rating. In the H1 results last November, executive chairman Nat Rothschild, said: Our outlook for the remainder of the year remains unchanged, absent any material disruptions that may be caused by Covid-19, and we continue to invest across the business in order to meet customer demand and deliver on our long-term growth prospects
