I believe that the miners are up following some broker upgrades to the likes of Anto, etc. Shares that have been weaker have generally risen today, but the likes of NG, BT and VOD which have been firmer lately, were falling. This wasn't VOD specific.

It's the pound rising, FED reduce half a percent, BoE stayed put, pound up to $1.33 hitting companies making profits overseas.

"Most importantly, it has formed what looks like an inverse head and shoulders pattern. Therefore, the stock will likely continue rising as buyers target the 50% retracement point at 86.30p."

dplewis1: That's the recent significant trend for me. If the 'U.S Tide' has indeed turned in it's favour'....then 'happy days ' beckon for holders ....particularly if the merger is ultimately given CMA approval supported by user guarantees from VOD and Three. Interims due 12/11/24.

It actually jumps now when the US opens rather than plopping. I'll take that as a positive sign

No chance of 80p today (from another thread). I estimate the buybacks t be worth on averge 0.5p per day. But, if like other compnaies with buybacks, none are done on days when the price rises due to other factors. But when it drops a little or stays where it is, a buyback is possible to add 0.5p onto the price.

Not sure why there's so much scepticism about the effects of buybacks, imv the chance of a daily rise increases and the chance of a fall decreases, and that seems obvious.
