10/5/2007 19:27 | Well Sony is the obvious call. Mind you it won't be a secret for much longer as the contract looks to be with immediate effect and Sony typically release two films a month. If not Sony I guess it is Paramount as mentioned earlier. Imagine deal is on a per minute viewed basis. My only guess that the reason for not naming "the name" is that "the name" are going to do their own PR release in due course. Excellent news they are starting to get penetration amongst the biggest players in the industry. | the_pimp

10/5/2007 07:08 | Vividas secure streaming deal RNS Number:3569W Vividas Group plc 10 May 2007 Thursday 10 May 2007 VIVIDAS GROUP PLC Vividas secures annual streaming deal with one of the top three major Film Studios in the US Vividas (VDS.L), the video streaming technology company, has signed its largest ever annual contract with one of the top three major Film Studios in the US, to stream all trailers from their 2007 film release schedule. Trailers will be streamed using the VivStream Campaign product offering that includes a unique High Definition streaming capability which enables studios to stream movies, webisodes and trailers in High Definition quality at a much lower bandwidth than with any of Vividas' major competitors. It also demonstrates a direct reaction to the growing demand for entertainment online. Paul Neville, Vividas' Chief Executive, stated "This is a ground-breaking agreement, combining as it does a highly prestigious customer and a significant contractual value. The online entertainment market is experiencing massive growth and Vividas is well placed to capitalise on the ever increasing consumer demand for high quality streamed content." Notes for Editors: Vividas is an AIM-traded developer and provider of video streaming technology and related products which enable straightforward playback on personal computers of full screen, high quality video via discs or over networks, including the Internet, normally without requiring software installation. Vividas proprietary technology overcomes the disadvantages of competing CD and streaming market solutions. These competing technologies typically offer only partial screen, or poor quality full screen, viewing and generally require the user either to have or to install specialist player software. 04/5/2007 19:49 | Sector is definitely "hot". Vividas quality as everyone pretty well agrees is ahead of the competition. They just need a few higher profile names to get the snowball rolling to differentiate themselves from the other "hopefuls" out there. | the_pimp
04/5/2007 18:53 | The results were meant to be indicative of the sector. The picture quality isnt comparable. | stegrego
04/5/2007 10:33 | No competition at all. VDS in fact use On2.Just that they have patented ways of using their product which others can't compete with. Mind you although VDS use On2 they are not reliant on it. | the_pimp
03/5/2007 23:22 | Competitor results today - TARRYTOWN, N.Y., May 3, 2007 /PRNewswire-FirstCal Revenue increased 131% to $2,815,000 for the three months ended March 31 2007 as compared with $1,217,000 for the three months ended March 31, 2006. Revenue increased 33% for the three months ended March 31, 2007 from revenue of $2,117,000 for the three months ended December 31, 2006 The first quarter of 2007 marks our seventh straight quarter of sustained growth, with double-digit or greater revenue growth in each of those quarters. Additionally, Q1 2007 is the first quarter in which we have achieved operational profitability," said Bill Joll, president and chief executive officer of On2. "This is a direct result and affirmation of decisions we previously made to lay a foundation for future revenue from royalty-bearing and other recurring revenue transactions. In addition, we achieved 100% growth in Flix(R) Engine sales in Q1 2007 over Q4 2006, as a result of improved sales performance and increasing demand for VP6-based Adobe(R) Flash(R) video. Web sales of our Flix desktop products is also on a healthy trajectory, and we are adding new marketing initiatives behind this channel. Our latest generation codec, VP7, is continuing to gain traction as well. We secured a significant deal for our TrueMobile(TM) mobile video system using VP7, which provided an unexpected boost to an already exceptional quarter." | stegrego
