Oh FFS. Look at the chart over the dates since the buyback was enacted. Do you think it was going to bounce up past that level since I posted. Even today another downward drip - or are you now saying ooooh a buying opportunity. For the brokers - yep

You are getting both - a big dividend and the share buyback makes a big dividend more sustainable - as they have to pay it to less people.

I think its a great idea.

Just because it has not worked for 39 minutes does not mean its not a good idea.

well it goes to show share buy backs dont make any money or increase the share price. Simple way is give me the money via a divvi and I will put it to better use.
Only ones who make out of this are the brokers handling the share buy back

I'm not expecting much while the Buyback Scam is ongoing. City manipulating that order book.

They will likely let it rally when they are running short of Dividend monies. Might get back to 182 where it was when they started the Scam...

Such a waste of opportunity to drive the company value back up to where it belongs -- well over 200...

Yep - its not just Virgin its the entire western worlds stock markets.
It looks like there is a hole in the bottom of the worlds bank vault and
all the money is drifting off into outer space.

certainly turned around today even before US indices rallied after US inflation figures . I have no ISA accounts Netcurtains and just do day trades most of the time but kept a few VMUK. Dual listed stocks like S32 are good as get a lead from OZ and easy to make money on a lot of days with £3 commission on my share account . GLEN is another NO stamp duty stock and sometimes good for day trades . good luck

I keep my holding as a core holding - I increase it(or decrease) from time to time. Currently I'm in HOLD mode (no increase or decrease). Just let it go....
I get a nice dividend and price fluctuation I can live with.

Down already to 165... Citigroup Global Markets Limited really using all their dirty tricks to shaft shareholders with their own dividend monies...

What amazes me is that CEO's don't care that share prices get shafted with Buyback SCAMs --- Oh I mean Scheme's. Times really have changed. The share price level used to be what either kept a CEO his job or the sack. Bring back those times :-)

arja: You can go LONG in funds that SHORT indexes - not sure specific stocks but you might find this is a better approach as you can keep the profits in an ISA without any tax..

really ? very interesting . VMUK looks like it will finish on low for the day and wish I had done a short on VUK just before 7am today using my spreadbet account with CMC - a kind of hedge ! :)

of course the system is there to benefit the big players Crazi and manipulation is the name of the game ( wry smile ) . looks like VMUK is heading for that 160 level again which it hit yesterday as minimum target .
