banks doing well today netcurtains and VMUK taking part in the rally . Chart shows the banks might be turning after the drop in last few months BUT Fed meets today to decide US interest rate and it might change things . I bought VUK on aussie market last night and hoping for a quick overnight profit if VMUK up at end of day as UK still lead market I think !

Not overly worried that VM is in danger but I wouldn't be buying shares in it right now or many other bank for that matter. Neither am I selling.

At the moment I don't think there is any evidence of that here. I think VM is mainly retail deposits which are described as sticky.

In the USA people are pulling their money out of small cap bank stock into big ones in case of a bank run

The drop is caused by the Silicon Valley bank problems with falling deposits and sales of securities. The market thinks this may be more widespread and banks have dropped accordingly

I am puzzled as I thought ex div date was yesterday but VUK in OZ suggests it is today ?

Going nowhere? The share price is up 21.80% and that's after paying a 7.5p per share dividend!
Admittedly down 0.61% from a year ago to date but whoever bought then and is still in will hold for ever!

The post results broker presentation is available on the VMUK website.
The q&a session at the end is interesting and the CFO answers questions in detail, with nothing glossed over.

Apparently there is a bank stress test to come shortly, after which they will consider a further buy in, probably in Q4.
