I discussed our troll with a university team who are studying negative forum behaviour; ours in particular. They came up with 'coprolalia' as a possibility.

Me neither, so this might help: "Coprolalia, the involuntary utterance of obscenities, profanities and derogatory remarks, is an extreme example of a vocal tic experienced by some people with Tourette's.....Aside from Tourette's, brain injuries, strokes, dementia , seizures and many other forms neurological damage can usher the onset of coprolalia as well. It is known to be caused by brain dysfunction, but the details are, as yet, hazy. One hypothesis, described by psychologist Timothy Jay in his book "Why We Curse" (John Benjamins Pub Co. 2000), suggests that it's caused by damage to the amygdala, a region of the brain that normally mitigates anger and aggression. Because cursing is a form of verbal aggression, amygdala damage could result in the inability to control aggression, including verbal aggression, or cursing."

Our troll needs our full sympathy and understanding.

Wow! Stig, you've certainly given me food for thought with your rather direct response to my post. I will reflect on what you have said, with a view to possibly giving a considered response. On the other hand, I may not respond as time is of the essence. Have a wonderful afternoon.

There's more chance of SuperG being short VRS than Taiga being a good investment.

If I may be so bold as to suggest that either post #14429 or post #14458 (or indeed, both) be awarded PLUS+ coins in order to facilitate their appearance at the the top of the VRS BB forum. Your co-operation in this endeavour will, I believe, serve to make this board a more harmonious and productive place to inhabit. I trust fellow BBer's will accede to this rather revolutionary request.

Short on what.

I've only done 2 shorts in my life and the last one was about 3 years ago on M and S. Both cases just small punts to test charts.

others raised Talga and I had them as full of BS so engaged directly with the heads there who refused to answer questions in writing. So it was nice to find the job ad for a sales manager in the UK with the comment that they actually have nothing to sell yet which is completely at odds with their official news.

I didn't short AGM either but I knew they were lying and it would come unstuck, it collapsed from over £2 to high 30's.

Investors to me look like they have been mugged by Talga. If that job ad is them.

It says Aussie based, Graphite mine Nordic region and office based in Cambridge. The Talga Cambridge office guy resigned in the last few months.

Nothing to see and making a lot of noise is exactly what they said re the job description and that fits what I thought about them too.

Back to Talga

Remember those trying to say Talga was the all singing and dancing graphene company in the game.

Lot's of noise and claims in official news but not trace of the actual product for sale.

Np that recent job ad find seems to suggest they don't have any to sell which explains why I got no calls for my order for graphene to them. Another lying bunch but I knew the already.

Hmm I see they are listed on IG, what M/C are they :-) One for the bears perhaps

As far as I can see, all they've done is close the gap at 60p from a technical chart perspective.

As soon as it started dropping below 70p that was pretty much guaranteed.......

Yep. I too expect the big makers of sports shoes to be keenly interested. But better grip, greater flexibility, greater strength and better wear resistance, is also exactly the combination of characteristics that every tyre manufacturer is endlessly seeking. And the worldwide tyre market is gigantic ;-)

A signing by Pirelli will do for starters - but come on Bridgestone, Michelin, Goodyear, et al.

I see the rubber training sole stories continue. "smash the limits of grip". There is no way in this world the big sports names are going to ignore that they are the first to develop such things simply as the hype sells the product.

So imo we can expect a run of sportswear type graphene enhanced products in the not too distant future.

“Now, utilising the groundbreaking properties of graphene, there is no compromise. The new rubber we have developed with the National Graphene Institute at The University of Manchester allows us to smash the limits of grip.”

Dr Vijayaraghavan adds: “When added to the rubber used in innov-8’s G-Series shoes, graphene imparts all its properties, including its strength. Our unique formulation makes these outsoles 50 per cent stronger, 50 per cent more stretchy and 50 per cent more resistant to wear than the corresponding industry standard rubber without graphene.”

Hmmm

The dodgy Cantor Fitzgerald guy (Game), they get a supply, and by chance the bears short it at exactly at the same time.

Then right on the dot Motley fool who had been tipping it at the 80p price suddenly repeatedly put out sell advice.

Been as those bananas we keep going on about.

Either a very fortunate coincidence with a miraculous change of view or completely bent. :-)

Never trust any of them.

IFRS 15 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers) becomes applicable (I think) for any accounting period starting after the end of this month. Will this have any bearing on how VRS report any income that is currently undisclosed (within early stage collaboration deals or whatever)?

EDIT:
IFRS 15 specifies how and when an IFRS reporter will recognise revenue as well as requiring such entities to provide users of financial statements with more informative, relevant disclosures. ... IFRS 15 was issued in May 2014 and applies to an annual reporting period beginning on or after 1 January 2018.

Some companies I understand have already adopted IFRS15 for their reporting in recent years. But I imagine some AIM-listed companies will have avoided doing so until they must.

Ellissj - Yes it is important to have a mix of academia and industry working together. This is the ideal scenario. Both will learn from each other and both depend on each other.
Without research, there won't be any development in industry; but without industry and its finance, there won't be any research. When Cambridge and Manchester will see their innovations going forward in a big scale into practice, in cars, supermarkets, hospitals etc. they will be stimulated and motivated to make other applications go into practice as soon as possible. Overall, as one used to say "Theory without practice is sterile and practice without theory is blind". So Industry coupled with universities will succeed more easily and quickly than isolated industry, relying purely on its own R & D department which could be sometimes limited as university is wider in terms of knowledge, access to it and expertise as information is exchanged freely between colleagues whereas in industry you always find a bit of jealousy around with some people living in their own bubble that is difficult to access. All this can delay or even block innovations.
