Lag, Bobsworth, I suggest The New York Times ( because
around 31/12 they published the story "MTA: Subway has fix to 1930’s signals coming; plans spend $7bn".

As above, Bobsworth now has acted re the New York Daily News version dated 11/12, ahead of the Times. Perhaps the Times would now like to pip the Daily News by showing a very interesting solution - we can hope! But getting the Arch into newsrooms can't be bad, whatever they do with the story.

PS: Wonder whether AECOM would accept an invoice........EDIT (re the latest post above) for supporting their involvement!

Lag - might be taken more seriously if there weren't at least two glaring typos in it!

lag & hew nice one! I have just forwarded this fantastic opportunity to Neil Ricketts.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has opened the door for private vendors to grab a piece of the $7 billion it plans to spend on upgrades to the subway’s outdated train signalling systems.

Let’s hope AECOM were at the MTA presentation!

The companies can apply to a new “Signalling Challenge," and the winners will demonstrate their fancy tech to Metropolitan Transportation Officials at another event in March.

lag, as you are up and running on this, may I suggest you copy what you sent to the NY Times. I have a short note as below of a story they carried about 31/12. (Not quite sure of the publ. date.) As it's a hot topic right now, perhaps they'll think of a front page spot!

"31/12 New York Times: MTA: Subway has fix to 1930’s signals coming; plans spend $7bn."

Totally agree Rheum, long term it will be huge. In the short term theres inevitably going to be some turbulence but when the groundwork laid by the team starts coming together we will reap some spectacular returns. Not long now, keep the faith!

Joeblogg - well that's what we're all waiting for, buddy. But sadly that rank incompetent Ricketts seems utterly incapable of delivering. But don't worry, a takeover's coming...

Its getting pretty hard to take the daily pain here- VRS has made it onto the list of only 8 shares that have fallen every day for 6 days. The bottom has to be close surely mind you we have been this low before.
I think NR coming off twitter has been a huge negative for sentiment and therefore the SP
Long term I still think this will be huge though.

Hello hew,

Given AECOM's size they must have 'a finger in the pie' on 1000s of projects!

Thanks for that link.

I emailed a link to a CNCTArch picture and article to that NY paper:

AECOM would not be digging in new ground there, anyway:

"NEW YORK, NY (Jan. 4, 2017) —The AECOM-Arup joint venture is celebrating the completion of the first phase of the Second Avenue Subway for the MTA. It is the first major expansion of New York City subway system in nearly a century, the 1.8 mile stretch of track runs between 63rd and 96th streets and consists of three new stations, plus one upgraded station. The AECOM-Arup joint venture provided full engineering and architectural services for Phase 1 of the US$4.451 billion landmark project, which broke ground in April 2007."

Evening Folks,

Very interesting to hear about New York's subway problems, massive delays.

54$ Billion upgrade needed to subway system.

17$ Billion for signal system that is era 1930s, look at the pictures !

"Mr. Byford also cautioned that the repairs would require extensive station closings on nights and weekends."

Sounds like a job for THE Graphene Arch !!!

Maybe Aecom looking at it?

Maybe they have Cheek212. The tearsheets are inevitably a bit historic but it would appear that that was the situation on 26th November.

According to the FT tearsheets Herald only had 727k left to sell at the end of September so probably all gone now imo. However according to the same source Miton still had 7.22m on the 26th November and they have not been without their problems so it could be them offoading the last of their stock:
