NR tweet Merry Xmas.....Airbus taking 6 years to decide to consider using graphene. Only willing to grant £350000. NR going to have to do better at current cash burn just to keep the lights on.

Airbus
I pointed that out a while ago, it’s on this thread.

I found the criteria document which when read meant only VRS could fit the bill.

Initial criteria of meeting 10kg per month with proof they can do 1-10 tonnes per year for a single aerospace customer.

Other requirements were graphene ink, spray coating etc.

It’s not the first time Airbus have appeared with Airbus. Victrex invited Airbus and VRS to Exeter uni for a 2 day event, just a handful of guys discussing additive layer manufacturing.

That was posted on the thread too.

We may not be building structural parts for the airframe yet, but ice protection is a very safety critical area which can only lead to further acceptance of our new technology. It could also allow ice protection further back than traditional wing leading edge protection, in fact it could reduce the need for polluting de-ice fluids.

Excellent news for the only verified producer of high quality Graphene.
Versarien are the leaders in this technology and even though we are leaving the EU, we will be involved in this and possibly other EU funded projects in the future.

VRS is important to the future of the UK, but also to the future of Europe.

The grant money is useful but I am extremely pleased that we maintain the EU connection for the future.

Elmar Bonaccurso, Senior Scientist and Project Manager for Surface Technology at Airbus, commented:

"Airbus has been following the Graphene Flagship from the beginning. Now, after six years of successful research and development, we are at the right point to step in with a larger project. We expect that, by using graphene as a material for ice protection systems, we can reduce the complexity of these systems to create a system that uses less energy, reduces fuel consumption and allows us to become more environmentally friendly in aviation."

"We are very pleased to be working with Airbus on this key Graphene Flagship project and to be receiving funding from the Graphene Flagship to facilitate it. This is another example of Versarien's graphene technology being deployed in the aerospace sector, one where it has the potential to add significant value. We look forward to starting work on this project in the New Year and reporting on its progress and those of our many other commercialisation projects in due course."

Versarien PLC Airbus Graphene Flagship ProjectSource: RNS Non-RegulatoryTIDMVRSVersarien PLC18 December 201918 December 2019Versarien plc("Versarien" or the "Company")Airbus Graphene Flagship ProjectVersarien Plc (AIM: VRS), the advanced materials engineering group, is pleased to announce that it has been selected to participate in the Graphene Flagship project led by Airbus (the "Project").Funded by the European Commission, the Graphene Flagship facilitates cooperation between its partners, accelerating the timeline for industry acceptance of graphene technologies. The Project that Versarien will participate in will be led by Airbus and will focus on graphene enhanced thermoelectric ice protection systems.Ice accumulates on the surfaces of airplanes affecting the pilot's control of the aircraft. Thermoelectric ice protection systems prevent this from happening using an ultra-thin conductive layer to generate heat. The Project, which is categorised by the Graphene Flagship as a "Spearhead", large-scale commercialisation project, aims to develop graphene-based thermoelectric ice protection systems and to advance the technology readiness level of graphene in these systems. To fund Versarien's participation in the Project it has received approval for a EUR350,000 grant from the Graphene Flagship.Elmar Bonaccurso, Senior Scientist and Project Manager for Surface Technology at Airbus, commented: "Airbus has been following the Graphene Flagship from the beginning. 3D Printed CNCTArch using Graphene-reinforced Polymer

Apologies if already posted (don't have time to read all of the back-posts - 90% of which appear to be infantile rants from CS).

The Arch is on the AECOM website (I remember a few grumbling that it wasn't a few months ago).

Scroll down and the CNCT arch is listed. A couple of snippets below.

"The 3D printed arch, CNCTArch, is made from graphene-reinforced polymer and was designed to reduce the time and cost of installing digital signalling systems to ultimately deliver a better service for rail passengers."

"AECOM looked at replacing the traditional bolt and screws method of deploying digital systems in tunnels, which currently takes four shifts to install. The patent-pending arch, on which the digital technology is attached, is designed to reduce the installation time to only one shift."

Good to see the plan taking shape.

I see the MMs had done exactly what the video said. getting bit stale top end, knock it back and get the day traders and loose hands active to create some revenue.

As the guy said they do have good relationships with the brokers so can tend to be ahead of the game.

Now over on one well known share for some reason the MMs keep dragging it down, can't think why.;-)
