I got the impression NR and Chris were going to out an end to the cushy number days for end users who had been rather well treated while AAC margins got squeezed on some products." Neil confirmed this point at Bangers and went on to say they had asked clients on low margins products to go elsewhere to free up space and increase capacity in the factory for new higher margin products. | ![]() martinhel

15/12/2019 15:35 | "Financial market analysts and traders may use "near term" in reference to events that may be coming up in the near future" so what does 'near future' mean? ;-) | ![]() club sandwich
15/12/2019 14:57 | It's the term the company has taken to using instead of imminent. ;-) | ![]() grabster
15/12/2019 14:54 | Near Term Definition according to INVESTOPEDIA REVIEWED BY CORY MITCHELL Updated Jun 25, 2019 “What is the Near Term? The near term is a period of time not far into the future. The term is used to describe events that may occur soon. In finance, the term is often used to explain the timeframe during which an event or change is expected to occur. Traders will often use the term "near term" when expecting a price move to happen in the near future, or when a trade is taken for only a small amount of time. Understanding the Near Term Financial market analysts and traders may use "near term" in reference to events that may be coming up in the near future, such as company earnings, or if a price move in a stock is expected shortly. If an event or a price move is not expected for a while, then that event doesn't occur in the near term.” .................... SO THAT SHOULD CLEAR THAT UP We have been told to expect Textile related contracts with MAS global brand clients “Near Term” Oh yes, and just a trivial little multi million $ deal with Aecom for the Award winning Arch. And then, silly me, there’s the enhanced concrete worth a billion or two over the next few years. Our CEO has always been most circumspect in his choice of language particularly where a common phrase has an explicit meaning within financial parlance. That is why it was music to my ears to hear NR use the phrase “near term” on multiple occasions in his recent podcasts and interviews in reference to the above. Unless the MMs deliberately tether the share price we should see the market respond to being given repeated advance notice of these significant imminent developments. Then once these developments actually happen it will be too late for many to get on board because Nobody is going to want to sell while the share price goes stratospheric. Oh happy day. 15/12/2019 13:55 | Well , it's the start of the next 5 year plan in China on the 1st of January, unless they use the lunar calendar;)So it must start then or just before otherwise it will be a 4.5 year plan or a 4.89 year plan. How embarrassing;) | ![]() 1teepee

15/12/2019 13:50 | so back to the point at hand. anyone care to hazard any guesses at what 'near term' might actually mean? hopefully the fact they've just done a road show to potential investors suggests it will be sooner rather than later - but as usual, I'll believe it when I see it. | ![]() club sandwich
15/12/2019 13:47 | 1teepee - ha ha, yes, very funny. I simply brought the company to their attention and outlined the potential of graphene, it was their decision to invest - and their very own disappointment and anger at Ricketts' failure to deliver. | ![]() club sandwich |
