Pune : The use of graphene in various sectors like energy, construction, plastics, aviation, footwear, robotic, electronic vehicle batteries and vehicle parts will undergo radical changes. The Indian Institute of Science Education Research (ISSAR) in Pune will be assisting the University of Manchester in the UK on the research of commercial goods.

A mutual agreement (MoU) has been signed between Eicher and the University of Manchester, which was transferred to the city on Tuesday. William Hopkins, Deputy Head of the Deputy Commissioner's Office in Mumbai, UK, Crispin Simon, David Hilton, Trade Commissioner, South Asian Paul Viper, Sanjeev Gallande of Icar, Drs. Arun Prakash was present at this time.

Graphene, made from graphite, is going to make big changes in the industry. It can also be used in mobile, water purifier, aviation industry, painting, cooking, textile, vehicle tire, bulb. This will increase the life of the products. With the help of 'graphene' the battery used in vehicles will be reduced for charging period. As the life of cement concrete increases in the construction sector, the weight of cement block will also decrease. Plastics made from these can be completely recycled.
