Sorry, didn't Neill say that Brexit was causing some kind of delay, or some other issue, at the AGM? I can't remember the actual subject.... but I recall Brexit was not an issue, then it was... and now it's not again?

Thanks Bob thats good to hear. I do highly recommend people reach out to Neill if they have any concerns, saves a lot of mental energy and worry. Its also refreshing to hear the truth once in a while. Awfully toxic on here these days.

Well that puts an end to the Brexit/BIGT delay speculation.

No severn , it is conspiracy theory . Basically China did a big push on innovative tech and invited a lot of Nobel Laureates for their 'push', it does say in the Chinese press at the time and has eff all to do with the UK gov position.

FWIW I think Brexit may have a part to play in the delay of an announcement. I think there is some political capital to be gained from a public announcement by a minister at a senior level. Currently this cannot be publicised in a political way due to Purdah. It does seem strange to me that Chris was at a significant signing ceremony that VRS have stated nothing about publicly but which is known to many here due to Jointers discovery. Given that NR has stated this is government to government agreement and our lawyers Bird & Bird have stated nothing like this has been done before does make this highly political in my view.

Like I say, I am completely comfortable being wrong on this, it just seems a potential and plausible version of the events. Good to hear sensible (and non manipulative) arguments for and against it really. Grabster I hear what youre saying, but politicians do have influence, we know we have their staff on board, and this whole situation presents an opportunity for the UK government to show a large two fingered salute to our friends in the EU

Neither do I buy the waiting for Brexit argument, by then the arguments will have been won and what will be will be. There is more capital to be made before any vote, but I don't think that will be a factor either.

People keep dreaming up political issues - be they China/Us ones or UK/EU ones - as being the reason for absence of whatever. Sorry, but to me that is mere scapegoating, and I don't buy into it - nor do I think such reasoning is even necessary. To me, delays in progress between Versarien and its collab partners are just that. Those who don't understand how or why these might happen might feel some need to find external excuses; I don't.

Still think the timing was pertinent - day after Brexit should have been done and dusted and a great government trade story to start the new era
You don't organise a big signing/meeting like that at the drop of a hat - it must have been scheduled for some time and in anticipation of October 31st exit.
Government thinking how to announce it now?
